He did look a lot more mobile, bouncy which is a good sign to say the least.

Once he's done with the knee issue , he needs to play more minutes .

He was around 28 mins before the health issue , it needs to be bump around 32-33

Agreed. We have no one playing even 29 per game. These young guys can handle 30-32.

Yes, they should be able to.

I think our strength in the back court is in numbers. We have a good rotation of DAR, Young, JC and Lou. Which one of those do you want to cut minutes for? JC and DAR need time to develop. Lou is playing 6th man of year level and Nick has been one of our best players this season.

It's a tough decision. I think they are all deserving of minutes and you just play the hot hands to finish each game.

Not sure when it's going to sink in, but at some point DLO needs to start taking better care of the ball in the fourth when it really counts. There's just been way too many games where he's committing these unforced turnovers that just kill us down the stretch in tight games.

TOs - killer. But he played well otherwise. His scoring repertoire is polished.

I don't know if it's the knees or what, but I'm not seeing the progress I expected this season. He has the occasional impressive game, but otherwise he's a mixed bag of nice made shots but a bunch of turnovers. Right now this is Lou Williams and Nick Young's team, and I'm not seeing Russ going out and making his mark, trying to make it his team.

I have to agree. Russell has the occasional big game but he did that in his rookie season too.

He is better than his rookie year statistically (even though marginally). But he is also a year older, plays in a much faster and free flowing offense. The TOs etc. are still there, scoring efficiency is still la la...where is the big jump?

Tough to be really impressive when you don't play that much .

I still agree with your post . He's not explosive , can't go right ,doesn't attack the rim often ( below average finisher when he does) .

As of now he would be better if there were a good enough playmaker on this team to allow him to play more off the ball .

I'm still optimistic about him , he's in year 1.5 after all ...

PS : The late game TO still can't be excused though ... He's already done this same mistake so many times

His passes in the open court more or less seem to be on point. It's when they're in the half court set where he's committing the same type of turnovers, trying the force a pass into the vicinity of two or three defenders. If the pass isn't there and he knows it, he needs to look for other options or at least direct the guys around, he is the point guard after all. But these turnovers have been going on for a few games now.

Russell hasn't played more than 32 minutes in a game this season, but in the games he has played 30+, here are his numbers:

    Five Games
    37-89 FGs (42%)
    16-38 Threes (42%)
    11-15 FTs
    20.2 PPG
    5.6 APG
    5.2 RPG
    2.0 SPG
    4.0 TOPG

His five games of 20+ points project to 21 such games over the course of the season. Last year he did it 13 times in 80 games.

If I have a point it's that people are selling DA short - he's vastly improved from last season, and if he were to start playing 30-32 per night, he'd probably be at around 20-5-5.
