He can say all he wants, but his play is what matters.
I think he’s had one good game since being moved to the bench?
Oh well, like I’ve said before, he plays like he already knows he’s not going to remain a Laker for much longer.

Pippen was a g-league player here. He sucked playing with the big boys. Imagine starting the season with JHS as your starter PG as you're suggesting. This type of revisionism doesn't make sense imo

Anyway, DLo has been awful. The career lows in a contract year are super weird. He's in his prime, he could be making over 100M, yet he'll be an MLE type of player for the rest of his career. It's really costing us

yeah, i'm done trying to figure out why he decided to have his worst year in his last chance for a decent contract, but ok.

he'll be gone pretty soon is my guess. he may actually be trying to make it easier to move him.

If we can just get 70% of that production on a regular basis, I won’t be in such a hurry to dump the guy or at least he can add a little trade value. The best 6th men in the league aren’t defenders. If they were, they’d start. His bad defense is less of a problem as the 6th man, but we need him to just play around his career averages on offense.

Dlo isn't the guy I'm chomping at the bit to get rid of, nor do I think he has a lot of trade value. Mostly, get rid of the deadweight in Gabe for a center. Maybe move Rui/Vando for a real 2 way wing. Dlo is lower on the priority list IMO.

I agree in the theory.of Dlo as a very good 6th man. Honestly he should make a run for the award but he hasn't played like it so I think it puts the Lakers in a bind. Instead of playing like a contract year he's playing like he got a Rui type deal so who knows.

It's time for the Lakers to bite the bullet and make some moves. I like a lot of these guys and it's sad not to even get a good look of what they could be full strength but the hard truth is that Dlo, Rui, Vando are not guys who you can trust to be finishers in playoffs. They are too one dimensional and not consistent enough despite being good enough to be in a playoff rotation.

While all of us are to various degrees frustrated and disappointed with DLO, he's the one guy on our team I still expect to make a relatively big jump this season. He just needs to make his shots, that's it. He was not nearly as bad as his production suggests IMHO, if that makes sense. Once he starts making his shots, this offense will really cook. Hopefully it can happen early and for long enough to allow the Lakers to turn him, Rui, Vando and JHS into 2 actual 2-way players. Please make it so.

I like DLo, and really hoped that he could have been a dependable third option for scoring buckets. He’s just wildly inconsistent and can’t be trusted to be a stable option. This is why no team has awarded him with a long term contract.
I hope he can go on a long heater soon so his trade value increases for us.

eh, he played pretty well last year and nobody wanted him on a more than reasonable contract for his production, so i'm pretty sure his value is just as an expiring. his play won't affect it either way.

    it will affect us, though.

He had a career year last year and hit a franchise record...even with that, teams during the summer said nah, we're good. I don't think he has on the court value to the team we're trading him to.

Edit: haha, hadn't refreshed and seen abeer said basically the same
