Is he going to do this until he's dealt?

again, this is our fault, imo. ham, rob, and lebron could all have approached this differently.

why can't he just wait or do things quietly? i'm speaking about both rob and lebron here.

yeah, i suppose he could talk to the media. i just understand why he'd prefer not to. it might be better than what he might say.

i think the real downer here is that the last two wins don't really feel like we've pulled out of anything and instead feel like they're just masking the deeper issues we'll have to face if the season isn't going to be a total disaster.

he's probably about to join the long list of guys who play better elsewhere and whom we consider trading for in less than two years.

I doubt it with him. He's been passed around the league for a reason.

I'd still keep him instead of making a big trade though. He's playing well off of the bench.

Completely agree: Dlo is Dlo. He's had more than his fair chances in the league

It has been eye opening though that even when Dlo has a mediocre game IMO what happens to the Lakers when they have a guy who is a threat to drill jumpers from anywhere. The offense just opens up. A guy like Prince just misses way to open 3's that you don't see the same impact and he's not a threat to shoot off the dribble either

Anyways where I'm going with this is a guy like Lavine who I don't like (takes dumb midrange pullups, way too much iso, not much defensive commitment, terrible contract) would actually look pretty darn awesome with the Lakers. Lavine pluses and minuses are very similar to Dlo but he's like him literally on steroids - Dlo shotmaking plus just a completely different level of size and athleticism.

this is my point. remember this in your various trade scenarios. the shooting and having a competent ballhandler and passer. people don't like dlo, but he has these skills all in one player. there actually aren't THAT many guys in the league who can say this.

lavine can't play pg, though. he's a better scorer than dlo, but i'm not sure one can argue he's actually better at much else. and at more than twice the salary for twice the duration.

Dlo's passing comes and goes and his game including his PG play is severely limited by his inability to get to the rim or draw fouls.

Just saying it's easy to hate on Lavine (I don't even like him lol) and he's is not a PG but he's is a competent ball handler and due to his athletic ability and size his shooting threat is going to be much more consistent threat then DLo's which has traditionally waned with playoff level defense/physicallity. Add in he's a much bigger off ball threat and the ability to get to the rim and the fit is there with the Lakers IMO.

I'd take Lavine if his contract was 25 mil a year but 40 plus is UGLY.

Dlo, Rui, Gabe + 1st for Lavine and Caruso. Does the money work with that? I know the Bulls would never accept that though.

The thing is that because his contract is so freaking bad, I don't think the Bulls have a market for him. He's a distressed asset so the one guy who the Lakers can get without having to give up much other then salary filler. I have a strong suspicion that the Bulls will need to pay (i.e. give up a guy like AC) to get rid of that bloat

The continued refusal to talk to the media is getting a little annoying. He had to have known based on his contract structure that he’d be in rumors this time of year, and it’s not like there have even been any serious rumors yet

But I actually thought he played a great game last night. 11 points and 5 assists doesn’t jump out the page, but I thought his shots were timely and he had some good hockey assists

Honestly felt he kinda deserved to close out the game the way AR was struggling

Or at least play more minutes. Again, I feel that Dlo starting and Reaves in the Manu role is by far our best option. I don’t like Dlo relegated to the bench. That’s probably why he’s not talking to the media. I know he’s not happy with the demotion and he shouldn’t be.

I don't care about DLo not talking to the media, they're just going to ask him how he's dealing with the trade rumors and coming off the bench. I'm fine with him trying to tune that stuff out and just play.

He knows the LA beat writers will of course ask his thoughts on coming off the bench. He can either lie or be truthful and the boom front page headlines DLO’s becoming a locker room problem and team distraction. Who needs that.
