If we're serious about making the Finals, DLO has to go. I like him but i've seen enough, he shrinks when it matters most and it's tough/impossible to overcome.

Would love to see what Gabe can do in some of these Dlo minutes: really rough sledding at times

saw trade scenario where spurs get dlo n we get brogdan but we give up jhs...rather give em a future pick, to early to be throwing a 1st pick away

I'm most interested in Caruso. Not sure how we get him but I'd love it.

Maxwell Lewis is a better prospect then JHS. If you can get Brodgon for just DLo and JHs make the move

    Some good point guard stuff

Still quiet as a church mouse offensively against one of the two worst teams in the league who don't have a PG on the floor with their starters.

Still not getting enough from DLO.
I do like his assists, though.

D-Lo needs to be better. I mean, he's real silky in style and some of his assists are downright breath-taking, but sometimes he makes 2-3 bonehead plays in the span of a couple of minutes and I just shake my head.

Take care of the ball better. Stop throwing it away. His inbound crosscourt was terrible. A lot more people would be chiming in here if we managed to blow this game after being up 20 over 17-losses in a row SA.

I liked Darius his rookie year compared to JHS
I worried about his size long term but he had had good quickness and the jumper looked legit

i was trying to stay out of a jhs convo in the dlo thread, but i, too, am still confounded by all the definitive proclamations of his bustitude like, three games into his career.

as has been detailed elsewhere, basically nobody from this draft class aside from wemby is killing it. and rookies--especially one and dones--often don't.

there's a fascinating narrative going on with him:

    upload_2023-12-15_7-28-6.png

even if i were to grant he were "killing it", he's also like, 3 full years older than most of the guys in the draft class.

the other guy drafted right after jhs that i wanted:

    upload_2023-12-15_7-30-59.png

again, better than jhs (SO FAR) and about to be inserted into gs's starting lineup, i read.

he, too played at least two years in college, though. i think there's a trend in that regard. and maybe the answer is that when you're drafting later, you should look for more experienced players.

that said, if in two years, jhs is basically marcus smart minus the brain abnormality, all we'd hear about is that he was there for the taking on draft night and that he was projected in the lotto for months!

He hit 3 threes, that's nice. Outside of that, nothing. Nights like this it's helpful to have a #3 option who can read the room and pick up their play a bit.

Instead in DLO we have a guy who on a healthy Lakers squad can be anywhere from the 3rd best Laker or the 9th. That's WAAAAY to wild of an unpredictable nightly swing. I'd rather him just consistently be our 6th or 7th best offensive player, at least then you can gamelan and other guys know what they need to bring.

Update: On today's pod, Irwin says he's heard from multiple people in the past few weeks, both those covering the league nationally and local people around the Lakers, that there has been some tension in the locker room. At the center of that is DLO. His focus is coming into question.
