Yeah that’s a fair point. Some teams might welcome that excuse not to spend more money.

Agreed. Him saying, “Yeah, I’m nice” just made me cringe. Dude, you most DEFINITELY weren’t “nice” when you wilted like a heartless daisy in every game against the Nuggets. Wake up and smell reality. We all saw you fail miserably. He could have easily said,”Yeah, I really didn’t have it going against Denver and I let my team mates down.” Narcissism is an ugly beast.

Well..he did whack Murray pretty good on a drive, so he's not a chihuahua. He does remind me of a fancy French poodle, with painted nails sometimes. We just need the version from the incredible Hulk movie.

I’m good with bringing DLo back for the right price. His locker room energy (ice in his veins by all the teammates) was infectious when we had to make a push just to get in the playoffs. Now we know what we got with him. We need to have a better contingency plan of guards off the bench when he slumps. TBH all of our guards minus AR sucked vs Denver.

LeBron’s really mucked that equation up “IF” it’s true he wants no part of Russell back and has let those thoughts be known. As mentioned elasewhere he could put a stop to that if it was a BS take with a couple of tweets. Rob probably does have to listen to “that” in his planning and DLO too.

As smart as Lebron is, I really don’t get his thirst for adding a 3rd star. You would’ve thought he’d learned his lesson after the Westbrook debacle. 3 stars + vet minimum guys gets you beat. The NBA ain’t the way it was a decade ago when he was in Miami. I’d much rather have 2 stars and a deep, balanced roster.

In fact, that formula makes you miss the playoffs, as soon an one of the stars gets hurt. Which usually happens early in the season, and then you're just playing catch-up until you realize it's hopeless.

    Fischer on DLO
If you can get him down to $20m, I'm all in on that price tag.

This is exactly what we were saying earlier. If Rob trades DLo/Rui for Kyrie I’m done.

We sign him most likely if we get a reasonable deal so we have a movable contract, but I don’t think we see him on the team last Dec 15.

but with our luck he gets a high ankle sprain Dec 14th and is out months, so we can’t pull the trigger

Need to have two way guys in the playoffs. I'd be worried about Kyrie just getting targeted over and over again in the playoffs.

I think the C Bags for example just went at him.

lol duh! i can't see that happening. i guess maybe if he gets a player option on the second year, he might bet on himself.

"upwards" of 100 million is doing a LOT of lifting in that report, though. because, i mean, if it was 4 years 105 million, i'm doing that tomorrow, too.

you can pick benchmarks of playmaking guards who outplay russell making low 20s, but you can also point to guys who produce similarly and make north of 30 per.

anyway, if fischer's right (and, most of the time i've found, he isn't), this is great for us.

I still think we keep Dlo at 4 years 100 million. And I’m fine with that.

Russell can create his own shot if a play breaks down. Not that many who can. Most guards need to catch and shoot or hide behind a phalanx of screens. Yes, his defense needs loads of work but if anyone can sell him on it then Ham could. A matter of effort. He should be looking to redeem himself after a shoddy West Finals performance. Had he played like he did similar to the first two rounds, we would have won as others here have stated. Or not even been swept.

    From Dave McMenamin

He throws out a price range for DLO -- $18m-$23m

i'm loving these numbers. if they're real, get it done. the lower he goes, the more years I guarantee and the more likely i tack on a player option.
