I was thinking broken tail bone when I heard he fell on his butt. Thank god it wasn't that serious.

I expect him to be back next game like nothing happened.

Well I was just going to make light of needing SEAL Team 6 to finally take out the guy with the "doll". After the recent injuries have started up like last 3 years. I think it's still out there. But in my search for which SEAL Team number it was I am coming across links saying all those guys (22?) were killed in some operation that was highly "questionable" and sent them all to their doom? For real did that happen? Not the place for it here, but just did that happen... they're all gone?

I think LA stopped breathing for a couple seconds... He sure made it look worse than it really is. On the bright side the injury happened after he rotated over to cover for Hibbert, might have been smarter to try and take the charge instead of challenging Gobert.

Gets smushed either way because he's so much smaller.

I think he learned his lesson trying to jump with these much bigger players. He'll probably realize he's a PG and just take the charge next time lol

Scary moment there. I'm glad he's ok and hoping he's back next game.

He plays really well with Black, has since summer league. Byron said he doesn't know if he'll stick with Russell on the bench, but he will look at it and adjust. It's a legit question. He gets to run the bench unit, and he has shooters/scorers all around him. I like him with Clarkson, but add Kobe and Randle to that, and there isn't a lot of ball to go around. I believe this is the 2nd time he's had extended time with the bench, and both times he looked good with them, as we were asking this question then too.

I have to say I absolutely loved him with that second unit. They needed a real PG who could set the table and relieve Lou and Russell did exactly that. Those passes he was hitting the shooters with and Black were just incredible. As I said in the optimism thread, he makes it look so easy and we know it isn't. Kelly, Lou and Swaggy just went off with Russell setting them up. I'd like to see more of that squad.

Looked great against Maccabi. But let's be fair, that wasn't close to nba competition

But I agree, make him in charge of the 2nd unit. Playing the 6th man role for this season might be positive for his development. He probably can't keep up with starting talent yet, especially in the West. We have the luxury of not having to throw him to the wolves so soon, there's a few options for our backcourt.

If we're no where close to playoff contention, he should be a starter later in the season

i still want Russell starting. Clarkson can run the point but he's a natural SG. i think what last night showed us is that Lou belongs at SG, not initiating the offense. i want to see Huertas with the second unit before deciding that Russell should come off the bench.

I'd still have him starting; you want him learning and playing w/Randle and Clarkson. That's the future. That said, Scott needs too figure out a way to stagger his time with both units (starters, bench) and start there.

Ya'll are forgetting Huertas. Huertas will provide that type of similar impact when he's back and he's running the bench. Leave Russell with the starters. The more time he has to develop with Clarkson/Randle/Hibbert the better. Not to mention Kobe who is our stand in until Durant gets here next year. :ShaqOh:

agreed its not an NBA team but to be fair, that's the same Maccabi team that lost to the Grizz by only 13 with Gasol and Connely both playing 30mins
