D-Lo, after the loss to HOU: (source)

    >Point guard D'Angelo Russell also pointed out how personnel changes played a part.

    >"I mean, I'm not going to go against Coach. He obviously sees that as well. I agree," Russell said. "But when LeBron is playing, we're a different offensive team. When AD is playing, we're a different offensive team. I compare it to with Kobe [Bryant]. ...

    >"He was on his way out and he didn't practice a lot and we had a practice group in there at practice and ran the plays and did all that. But when Kobe would play, everything we practiced on kind of went down the drain. We kind of had to adjust. So, it's similar to that."<

Sooo: have extra practice sessions for the no-AD team when they try to win a game against Russ and the Clips on April 5th, one day after playing the Jazz? Or will we be out of it by then?

those guys are buttering your bread and making you look better than you are. Without them? 5-17, 5-15 even with AD. shaddup

Sadly not a good statement game tonight. And Kyrie with a huge game.

His splits with Vando are not good. Everyone like Vando but from what I'm seeing he only starts going in the non Vando minutes

A week ago, I was left scratching my head with why DLo had so many detractors from his time in Minnesota. Seemed like a legit max player the way he was playing for us. I actually was starting to think he was a better fit than Kyrie.

So I guess it’s nice to get grounded in reality. His shooting in those Toronto/NY games is likely the higher end of his ceiling, his play in the last few games is likely the lower end of his floor. He’ll probably stabilize somewhere in the middle, and that’s fine.

So on the bright side of these losses, I think this stretch may be sufficient to avoid DLo demanding a ridiculous contract.

Also for what it’s worth, despite his shot not falling, I thought he played a decent game. 11 assists is nothing to sneeze at. I was actually a little baffled at why we essentially had him as the off-ball 2 with Dennis as the primary ball handler. Schröder hit some big shots, but I still felt more comfortable with the offense and it’s ability to feed AD when DLo was handling the ball.

Because Hambone has a man crush on Dennis.
Dennis is fine, as a backup PG only.
He can have an occasional spectacular game as a starter, but those are few and far between.

I agree with this. I’d definitely like to see him shooting better but I thought he was okay last night.
