538.com pegs Russell's 5-year market value at $86m. They also don't have a good comp for him, by their own system.

Spotrac will post theirs at some point, but they don't have one up for Russell yet.

Russell's average salary on his current contract is $29.3m. That's 12th among PGs. The 30th highest PG salary is 11.4m, but that's a rookie deal. So is Ja Morant's 9.9m at 31st on the list.

The median salaries on that list for starting PGs (top 30) would be 22.7-24.1m.
His salary has been 25% of the league cap on this deal. That would be $33.5m, I think.

So, that's the range, I'd imagine.

    23.4m to 33.5m per year

5/86 ain't happenin'. but i don't think teams with big space are going to be chasing russell first and foremost, so i don't think we'll have to hit a number over 30, either.

i think something like 4/110 is possible. maybe we even go to 5 years if he's willing to drop a bit in annual salary. in any case, his next contract should capture the bulk of his prime, so that's a positive.

I keed of course. I'm sure we'll pay him what he's worth, and attempt not to overpay him. If his agent demands overpayment, sometimes you have to let them go or work out a sign and trade to accommodate them. Hopefully if he's a great fit, it won't come to that.

i've really liked how he's looked so far. if he just plays like this for the next 20 games, i'll be happy to pay him to stay. just a really good fit offensively. way better than what i was realistically hoping for (terry rozier or conley), and honestly as good as my primary pipe dream (van vleet), all things considered.

Lamar Odom fringe all star who was a key piece to those title years without being the 1st or 2nd option on the team.

Great comparison. We are too loaded now to not make a playoff push. All we have to do is make it and it all evens up. We have great role players and depth. The combo of AD, Lebron and Dlo make us pretty formidable. I'm shoveling in the coal.

WTF was DiVincenzo doing standing on the baseline right behind DLo when DLo was inbounding the ball? That's dirty positioning, absolutely no reason for him to be there. DiVincenzo steps forward directly into DLo's back leg space when DLo is stepping back as is normal to inbound the ball, and that's what caused the injury. Dirty.

It was a freak accident. I don’t see this as DiVincenzo’s fault. Anyways, I’m guessing he’s out a week.
