Idk why everyone wants a low % shooter with no D at 20m+ per year. Maybe because we drafted him I guess?

DLO is a good shooter. 37% while taking 8 threes a game is no joke. And his passing is still elite.

You didn't watch him last year. He's not a good FG% shooter, but he's a solid three-point and FT guy, and he's no longer the defender he was in the past. His DRPM was middle of the pack for PGs last year, was the team leader (last I saw stats was about 50-60 games in) in 50/50 balls and on the floor dives on hustle plays. He's also has one of the best mid-range jumpers in the NBA now, and he's clutch as f***.

Lol, imagine if we end up renting Dlo out to shed mozgov, then sign brolo with the rest of the cash.

    Gold.

Hey @trodgers , has DLo improved on his careless turnovers? I don’t mean forcing flashy passes, but more like lazy passes or getting pick pocketed with unfocused dribbling.

Short answer. Probably, in any way it matters.
Longer answer: really depends what counts as a careless turnover, and what his usage rate is.

Check these numbers, but I'll also put the corresponding Assist data in there.

Per 36 minute TOs by season:
    3.1 to/4.2 ast
    3.5/6.0
    4.3/7.3
    3.7/8.3
So, his TO are up .6 (about 17%, but his assist rate has doubled, +100%)

Per 100 possession TOs by season:
    4.4 to / 5.9 ast
    4.7 / 8.2
    5.8 / 9.8
    4.9 / 10.9
    Similar idea - +12% tos, +90% assists

    TO% by season:
    15.9 TO / 21.2% ast
    15.6 / 26.8
    16.8 / 35.7
    13.6 / 41.3%
TO% down, about 17%; assist % nearly doubled.

    TO by Type by season:
    093 bad pass / 75 lost ball / 13 offensive fouls
    110 bad pass / 40 lost ball / 15 offensive fouls
    085 bad pass / 37 lost ball / 7 offensive fouls
    150 bad pass / 74 lost ball / 14 offensive fouls

So, 57 more bad passes (in about 200 more minutes) from rookie season to last season, with 1 fewer lost ball, 1 more offensive foul. Meanwhile, he handed out 297 more assists from his rookie season to last season.

He's handling the ball MUCH more, is handing out MANY more assists, but he's also turning it over. Just not as frequently per play.

    So, probably.

DLo close to a max contract with the Warriors...

I don't think thats a great choice for him. Especially with Klay coming back next year, I doubt they would want to play with Klay at SF.

I would have prefered Minny or Suns where he could to some degree build a 1-2 punch

I think it could work, Curry at pg, Russ at SG (or switch those 2 around) and Klay at SF, but I also think this feels like a move to help keep them relevant for this season and then I could see them trying to move him in a trade to improve overall when Klay is back to full health next season.

I agree with this completely. They get a prime asset to deal next year when the financial restraints come off. Smart guys at work over there. I think this forces them out of the repeater tax situation as well if I'm not mistaken. If they re-up Draymond Green, and he stays healthy, they are a decent center and bench away from continuing a great run.

Yeah. I think it does work pretty well, either if they’re holding onto him or moving him at the deadline. Curry, Russ, and Klay would be pretty darn good, but their financial situation is a bit desperate if they’re maxing Green. Personally, I wouldn’t max him.

I think they'll hold onto him for the full upcoming season, but then trade him in the offseason. He help fill Klay's gap and allows Klay to not shoulder too much when he first comes back.

At the very least he’s worth a first round pick and cap room now. Minimum.

Keeps them afloat while waiting for Klay yo come back. Would have been a long season for Steph being the first and primary option on that team until Feb/Mar

Bummer to be in limbo about where Russ will be after this season, but...

    Curry/Napier
    Russ/Evans
    (Klay)/Graham
    Green/McKinnie
    Looney/Jones

They need a shooter at SF. Graham is a really interesting player, who seems to do literally everything right on the court. But he just can't put his shooting together. At all. Hearing Livingston will be waived. Warriors could definitely use a ring chaser or two.
