He was a casualty of the PG13 pursuit. Had IceWater in his veins! Loved his game like Nick da Quick aka the gangsta hoopa.

Russell has now stabilized. It seems like he has a good game pretty much every game in 2019. Props.

Im starting to think that Ingram and Ball (not sure about Kuz) would be mini beasts playing anywhere but LA.
Maybe we should bring Kevin Ollie or something.

    He's shooting 38.7% on C&S 3's , 37.4% on open and 40% on wide open 3's.

He would be a better fit with Lebron than any of our "kids" has been so far

I think Kuzma is the best fit if he makes his 3s, which he has not this year.

But Russell would definitely be at least 2nd.

Johnson laid an egg with switching Russell for Ball...neither is a leader, neither is going to be a world beater. But taking everything into consideration, Russell is more ready than Ball (right now) and a better fit next to LeBron.

Russell did have tender knees which concerned me a lot. Ball is still growing into an NBA player so its still too early to say how things shake out 5 years down the line, but at this moment Russell is a better player than Ball.

Kid still holds that Lakers rookie record (3's made in a game - 8) and that 39 points game was second best to only Elgin's.
I wish he never met Nick f***ing Young.

Kuz wasn't a good 3pts shooter in college so unfortunately his rookie season was the anomaly .

On the Ball- DAR debate , both are a question mark health wise , Lonzo is a much better defender but DAR is I think 8th in the NBA in made 3's .

I think they would have made a terrific backourt duo

    Quick takes:

Russ’s knees still bother me, but he’s apparently taking better care of his body now. Could help.

Ball’s legs should worry everyone. Injuries and seeming inability to grit out when necessary.

Kuzma isn’t likely a good three point shooter. Sucked in college and this year. I agree: last year an anomaly.

He's not the fastest in terms of games, but he's the youngest player to reach 500 threes, I think.

Devin Booker should be able to beat that mark soon though.

    Last one:

Here's the career projection I plotted for Russ (I have them for lots of other Lakers, too, if you care), from a few years back:
These are per 36, but the assumption is the player would grow to about a 36 MPG player unless otherwise noted.

    Projections: Points-Rebounds-Assists
    Rookie 16.4-4.7-5.3
    Year 2: 17.3-4.7-5.3
    Year 3: 18.2-4.7-5.3
    Year 4: 19.1-4.7-5.3
    Year 5: 19.8-4.7-5.5
    Breakout: 20.7-4.7-5.8

His actual per game, by year:
    13.2-3.4-3.3
    15.6-3.5-4.8
    15.5-3.9-5.2
    19.6-3.7-6.4

    His per36, by year:
    16.8-4.4-4.2
    19.6-4.4-6.0
    21.7-5.5-7.3
    23.8-4.4-7.8

In brief, he's already nearly as good as I'd projected him to be when he was a rookie. He could actually be even better than I'd projected.

I was salivating at the thought of Ball/DLO backcourt. That dream got killed pretty fast though :(

I don't disagree. But his shooting form is almost flawless. Therefore I have high hopes that the touch can come with reps.

More evidence to the theory that players play worse when they're in LAL than on other teams. Not saying this applies to all types of players but probably to most.
