mcgee was in a solid environment in dallas and couldn't get it together. he really hasn't been that good in gs, either. much like the rest of his career, he's managed to have a few good games that people remember. he's generally bad, and it's terrifying to rely on him.

so, sure, as one of five centers on a team that barely plays a center, i'll take him.

Wow. Well at least he has that bright new tat on his bicep. Guess he will find out what the market is for him this summer.

He got that tat just so he could style it in that picture. He has no further use for it now.

I'll never forget how much crap I got on here for saying he didn't have super star potential. People thought this kids was gonna be a HOFer.

Why so serious? Or wait, maybe it’s because he’s not so serious, about b-ball.

You weren't alone. Now, I admit that I wanted Okafor, who is out of the league already, but i didn't like D'Angelo, but tried giving him chances.

I think many were on the same boat. Try to defend him on the Nick Young fiasco but overall he was an immature j******

He’s a bit immature and talented, but it’s too soon to give him a big extension. It’s smart business to wait

Since he’s coming off of an injury, give him the year to prove himself, and after next year, he’s still a restricted free agent

He’s just not in the same breath as a “no brainer” like Booker or KP

That seems reasonable. And if you are going to blow everything up and start over, you don’t want to be handing out big contracts to mess with your cap room prematurely.

Ya’all are so cold. It’s like you have ice in your veins.

Would you negotiate an extension now, before the season, with a guy who missed 1/3 of it from a knee injury? I noticed that many posters are already prepared to move on from Lonzo Ball for his knee issues. Good. That's sensible. Knees are tricky, so no way I'd negotiate before I saw what DLO has to offer this season.

That said, there's every indication that the Nets are interested in extending him.

They bought out Howard to get out of Mozgov's contract.
They just moved Jeremy Lin (PG) and a 2nd rounder for a 2nd round pick, rights to Isaia Cordinier.
They moved Isaiah Whitehead (PG) and a first rounder and 2nd rounder to take on Faried and Darrell Arthur.

They'll have something like 50M in cap space for next season, minus Russ's deal, and they'll also have two first round picks in next year's draft. And they dumped two PGs. It almost sounds as if they have a plan. Can't quite put my finger on it. BTW, there are rumors of Kyrie and Butler trying to join up in Brooklyn, and I imagine if you were a GM, you'd do that in a second.

But my favorite thing about this thread is seeing how fans evaluate their talent vs. other teams' talent. Always a pleasure.

I think Brooklyn is finally in a good place with their rebuild. After winning 41 games combined, they won 28 last year, but their ORtg was the best it's been since 2012/13 and their defensive rating is still not good, but it's better than the last two seasons. I think they'll win somewhere in the 38 range next season with some growth from the young guys and a relatively attractive FA landing spot.

    D-LO/Dinwiddie
    Crabbe/LeVert/Harris
    Carroll/RHJ/Musa
    Faried/Arthur
    Allen/Davis

Big fan of Jarrett Allen's game, and I'm happy to see Ed Davis back on a team where I have a reason to watch him. I really grew fond of him during his tenure in LA.

@trodgers Did BKN have interest in Randle at all? It would've been cool if he joined D-Lo, Lin, Davis at the Nets. I'm rooting for the ex-Lakers (and the Nets for that matter) to succeed in the East.

The Nets don't have cap space right now, and the Lakers weren't looking to take on any of Brooklyn's contracts, so I don't think it was a possibility, either through trade or FA.

I like Lin, but he's gone from Brooklyn now. He's also 30, has missed more than 100 games over the last two seasons, and he's coming back from a serious injury. It's going to be a tough year for him.

I was warming up to Russell when he had a good stretch of games during his second year then inexplicably dovetailed due to his playing time reduced for whatever reason. He also had a very good Summer League prior to it. Russell who had flashed what he was capable of remains an enigma. He seems like a good kid and all so I'd like to see him get his pro career and life together. Better alternative than that d*****t Jamal Murray in Denver.

I think we all know what will happen: He’s going to prove himself next year, a contract year. Then Brooklyn will give him an inflated contract thinking he has turned the corner and will provide that contract year level of performance or greater going forward.

But alas, he will go back to being unfocused and lazy. Brooklyn will continue to look like the bottom dwelling franchise that it is for taking that expensive roll of the dice. And no one will be surprised by any of it.

If they were smart, assuming his performance goes up to contract year levels, they would look to trade him when he looks most desirable.

Yes, we all know what will happen. Like fans always do. They’ve literally been right about everything.

still think d-lo would have had success as a spot-up shooter playing alongside lonzo. too bad the coaching staff just barely figured out he was a better spot up shooter than a true PG at the very end of his last season in LA

i was bummed out about the trade at first but obviously its worked in our favour quite well
