I don’t watch them, so best to limit myself to what I know. Still a BI fan. Agree with Ball that college players should be paid if they’re going to make money like they do. But I don’t have the interest in the team right now.

I did see a top 100 players magazine yesterday. MJ, LeBron, Magic, Kareem, Kobe were top 5 I think. In that order.

chamberlain doesn't make anyone's top 5? i have a tough time putting magic and kobe over him, despite my strong personal bias for each.

He was on the cover...not sure where he ended up. But rules were changed because of him. That’s awesome.

I also recently published a paper on a famous example from a 1974 book called Anarchy, State, and Utopia. It’s called “The Wilt Chamberlain Example.” Good stuff.

BTW I absolutely think per 36 numbers are BS.

I have now seen enough to know that some players just aren't as effective by playing more minutes. Their numbers is by no means proportional to their minutes played.

For example Clarkson...whether he plays 32 mpg or 24 mpg, his stats would be pretty much the same.

"@trodgers .... are you never ever ... ever going to comment on a Lakers player again?"

Hey not telling you how to do your fandom but not watching the Lakers right now at this point in time with how they are playing ..... as a basketball fan who once cared about the Lakers even after Kobe retired (like last season) and even though now you have missed the wonderful play of our 2nd steal in the draft, Josh Hart (with Kyle Kuzma obviously the first) ...... you are missing some absolutely fun and exciting basketball.

DLO's your guy and so you watch the Nets now, and as always your time is scarce I know, but I hope you at least are watching CaCHooKa Man's highlights once in awhile. Absolutely the wrong time to be missing the fun and great play finally going on right now since the All Star break. Lonzo is an amazing player, IT is starting to ball again like his old self and BI and Randle are just blowing up in front of our eyes.

Easy there..... you know what our record is right?

    :Fishwink:

Actually I think the time off can do fans wonders sometimes. I took a long time off from CL at one point. I think somebody was impersonating me, and it was really upsetting. However, with some time off and a renewed appreciation for the Lakers, it was nice to have a family and a familiar place to come back to.

Yes I use that term family loosely. :Lonzoreally:

Just imagine a renewed @trodgers in a year or two or three or however long it takes, with an exciting team to mess with stats on, as we're leading the league in multiple categories with multiple all stars at the top of different categories, finally putting it all together, etc. He put together some freakin' awesome custom stats too, and was always great to read his well thought out takes. He's missed and his presence isn't easily filled.

If he leaves permanently ala Guru because life headed another direction, his legend and memory is intact, and if he returns, he has a family of brothers that appreciate him and all he has contributed over time, and will welcome him with open arms while giving him a lot of s*** because he's loved. It's what family does.

Again, I use that term family.....loosely. :Crazyartest:

I wished I had scoring punch (custom stat I think) on that last game. We were so incredibly efficient, it was freaking awesome. Check this out:

    Randle 25 points on 8/13
    Ingram 19 points on 8/14
    Lopez 10 points on 4/6
    Ball 8 points on 3/5 but also a +/- of +24
    Pope 18 points on 6/8
    Kuzma 16 points on 6/10
    Zubac 6 points on 1/3
    Thomas 29 points on 11/20

I'm sorry, but that is ABSURD EFFICIENCY!!!!!

    Miami stats

    Richardson 15 points on 6/17
    Dragic 19 points on 8/19

We used to see Kobe shoot numbers like those, and if he scored as many points as shots that he took, we could live with that. What we just did while scoring 130+ points and shooting almost 60% for the game against a team in the playoff hunt..... it's just pretty cool.

I used to love looking up stats and league leaders because with Kobe and Shaq, someone was always up there in some category or another. It's been awhile to lead the league in anything except turnovers, poor defense, losses, suckitude, etc. I hope management makes the right calls this offseason, but as fun as these guys are becoming to watch, what I'm excited about is next year and beyond. This is a development year, and they are actually developing. Something a prior coach was unable to effectively do with the youngins IMHO.

LeBron here next year. Feel good vibe now replaced by feeling a little dirty vibe for you and me and more than one or two others. I should have added. Catch us now. LOL

Haven't had a chance yet to read everything you wrote in your good spirit. 4 AM and needed a cold shot of water. But I know it will be good.

I'm sure Russ did lose the game for them. I think we all know that fan hot takes are always close to the truth.

Russ starting to get back into good game shape. Last 7 games: 16.7 points, 7.0 assists, 3.9 rebounds, 45% FGs, 32% threes, 93% FTs. He also has two 20-5-5 games in that stretch and three 8+ assist games.

He has returned to the starting lineup in his last 4. In those, he's averaging 16.3 points, 7.5 assists (2.8 TO), 3.5 rebounds, and he has hit 12 of 34 threes (35%).
