Hard for me to hide my feelings on this. Huge mistake, in my mind, and I don't want to be proven wrong. I want him to succeed, no matter where he is. And if he's playing better than any of the Lakers, I'll be following him.

^...still in a bit of shock about it. Agree with what you said. Last season, I was in Russell's corner from the first game of the Summer League on up. Like some, I wanted to see how he and Ball would have meshed. At least tried it...

But he recorded a teammate talking about being unfaithful! That's just not forgivable.

should've just traded down and dump Moz along the way, I dont know how much truth there was with LA trying to trade 2 for 5/10 but I would've been just as happy had we done 2/moz or deng for just 5 and taken Fox, positionless bball. Fox fills up the speed/athleticism for a guard, Dlo takes care of the shooting. Oh well spilled milk as the saying goes.

Feel kinda sad listening to this interview. I believe in his talent. Hope he thrives in Brooklyn.

i do think he has character issues. i thought that while he was here. i'm just not sure they can't improve and his talent can shine through.

Magic during his in-game interview yesterday said we needed our point guard to be a leader not a scoring one. He also said DAR has the potential to be very special.

I believe something happened internally within the Lakers Front Office from the time Rob and Magic got hired until the time they traded Russell; I think they got word from an agent(s) that 2 players are headed here next year.

In their quest to create cap-space for next year, they decided to take the best available deal (Brooklyn) and get rid of Russell and unload the Mozgov deal. We can debate the timing and merits of that deal, but I don't think Magic and Rob make that move without assurances that something is brewing next year; as in we get in 2 Max players...

I sure hope they got that assurance, because unless Russ is a hardcore drug addict or something, trading him to dump salary and for a one year rental of Lopez when he could have played next to Ball and had open shots all day every day looks dumb. If we sign 2 max free agents next offseason, it will all make sense, but for now, I'm still bummed about this. We're desperately looking for a starting SG, and we already had one.

...just help get Joysee to the playoffs and screw up a certain team's potential high draft pick.

Of course Deandre Jordan was about to SIGN somewhere and retracted that, so "assurances" mean bunk to me.

We've heard it now on repeat for a year, but George is coming here. Barring some sort of weird happenstance, he's going to be a Laker in a year. Magic has sold him on LA, sold him on the money, and sold him on the mantle. George has Magic and Rob 100% believing that he's on the way. Personally, it's hard for me to count on something like that, but Magic and Rob have been assured by George and his agent.

The second guy right now looks like LeBron, but who knows? We've been saying for weeks, but a lot hinges on Ingram and Ball. If those two look like potential superstars, guys are going to perk up when they become FAs in regards to LA. There's a reason to come to town when you watch Ingram and Ball play. We're going to play a fun and exciting brand of basketball. I think someone else joins George I'm just not quite sure who. Chris Paul? LeBron James? Russell Westbrook? Maybe they bide for another year and try to coax Klay out of GS?

i know all the signs point to PG coming to LA next summer but honestly, I'm not going to expect it. If it happens, awesome. If it doesn't, it wouldn't surprise me

If PG does sign with us and we manage to lure in another big name FA, it won't be Lebron. I'd say it'll likely be Westbrook. I think the Cavs will do what's necessary to please him and keep him there. Quite frankly, I really don't want Lebron anyways.

For now, we'll just have to endure another awful season. Although I am hopeful that guys like Ingram, Randle, and Zubac are going to build on the progress they made last season and that Ball is no doubt the stud we all believe he is

I think this is a very healthy way to view it. There's still definitely a chance it doesn't work so I think it's probably a great idea not to get attached...

    I'm already attached though...

As somebody else posted, "Paul is in Transit; in OKC right now."
