I haven't read everyone's thoughts I this yet, but I absolutely hate this trade for so many reason:

    1) We lose our only shooter currently on the roster
    2) If we go with Lonzo, which now we better, we need shooters on the team. Russell was the only one that I felt great about in this department
    3) Giving up on a 21 year old kid who by many stats ranked exceptionally well based on his age and experience when comparing them with other great PGs who were also this same age
    4) Even if you want to trade him, let him play out this next year, see his development and get a better sense of him with Lonzo and another year with Luke and then by the deadline you can think about something. WHAT IS THE RUSH????
    5) Paul George affect - his agent represents Randle, Russell, and PG. Both PG and his agent have made it known it would be great to all play together and be under the same roof
5a) This may hurt the relationship and trust between PG and his agent with trusting us and internally continuing to worse his way to LA based on how we just treated Russell.
    6) Brook will likely not be on our team after next year as he was just valueable because his contract will come off the books after next season but we couldn't have gotten more back then the 27th pick and Caris Levert (nice prospect but always hurt)???

    And lastly my biggest frustration:

    7) This trade signals to me the most damning thing which is we are rushing into trying to hit a homerun with PG this year and Lebron next year and sacrificing young assets for it when GSW aren't going anywhere. Up until this point I had confidence in our FO that they knew they had to be smart and grow this team organically with our young guys at the center of it all. Bring in PG this year or next off-season and then potentially stretch moz or deng contracts to make room of another star player other than LBJ. But this doesn't appear to be what is happening by all reports - mostly notably this trade and then the fact there is a report that we are offering 28,27 and either JC or Randle for PG13 now.

    You DO NOT TRADE:

    #2
    Ingram
    Russell
    Randle
    Zu

    Options TO MOVE:

    28
    Nance
    JC
    anyone else

    PLAIN AND SIMPLE

ESPN Radio -- MadDog (sorry, I'm in my car all day and listen to ESPN), but he said Bird was an absolute fool for not trading PG13 at the trade deadline last year and that's why the offers are so low now. Will be even lower at trade deadline this year. After that, he walks for nothing.

Having said that, Magic trading Moz when he could is similar. Can't wait until it's time to sign a big name FA and we gotta find someone to take Moz. Do it when you can. I hate seeing DLO go, but it appears we are the only ones high on him.

I'm willing to trust the process (like I have a choice).

Take a step back... PG's agent Aaron Mintz is talking to Magic. You don't think Mintz knew or even had input on DLo going to Brooklyn?

Don't be foolish. This is how deals get done in the NBA.

Russell has the green light with the Nets. He can get himself paid. Lakers getting future cap relief. Lakers planning for PG and LeBron. Win win and winning!

Oh so a 37+ year old player next year with all this mileage and miraculously hasn't gotten hurt and is on the verge of regression in his game and body.

    Can't wait...

    None us want Lebron though.

I rather lose without Lebron than win with him.

After what we have seen from his ring chasing....do we really want him to come to our team to chase?

No thanks. Please go to the other LA team.

I don't. Lebron can get us rings and I'll never root for him.

    My hate is deep.

    lol

You guys are just as bad as him hopping teams. Lebron jumps at the chance to collude.

You guys jump to the chance of him coming here.

I like to call out hypocrisy. Nothing against you guys.

Remember when Lebron held the NBA hostage? He had the press conference where he was taking his talents somewhere? Laker fans were making fun of him?

He's doing the same thing with us.

He wants to come to LA? Probably with the Clippers.

I doubt he would come to the Lakers a few years after one of the greatest Lakers ever retired with 5 rings.

I don't want my fellow fans to get duped.

This is a Lebron trait that we cannot deny.

Well...speaking for nobody else but myself, I root for the Lakers. I want to see them hang another banner. No singular move puts you closer to that reality than signing the best player in the league (the one who, while losing, averaged a triple f***ing double in the Finals).

If the plan works and by July 1, 2018 we have Paul George and LeBron James under contract, we will be odds on favorite to meet GS in the WCF. We went 26-56 this season.

We'll see how all this unfolds, but I'm actually not that upset about this.

If Mitch and Jim didn't screw us with the stupid Mozgov deal, then this wouldn't have been an issue. There was no reason for that deal, and we're now paying the price for it by trying to dump that salary.

I thought we'd get more for D'Angelo Russell, but I also don't think he's going to be a star in this league anyway. He can prove me wrong, but I'm not going to miss him.

There's still the Spurs, not saying we won't be able to beat them with PG and Lebron (a older LBJ), but it's not gonna be a cakewalk to the WCF either.

If the Lakers are putting all their eggs in the Lebron basket they will have not learned their lesson about trading and signing for aging super stars.
