The consistent message we kept hearing from this new FO was how much they love Ingram. Just never heard that about Russell from them. Sucks because I'm as high on the kid's talent as anyone, but man, he must have really rubbed the powers-that-be the wrong way cuz this is a flat-out dump.

I'm actually rooting for Russ to develop into a stud on some level. He's been my guy since we drafted him. This hurts a bit.

i get wanting to trade mozgov but why the hell wouldn't you just include russ in a trade for PG if they were set on dealing him?

this makes no sense at all

Now proceed to watch ESPN praise DAR as the savior the Nets need.

GMs hate him. Fair or unfair, they don't trust him leading their team. NJ was probably the only team willing to take that risk. What do they have to lose?

Obviously not... I don't understand the move to do it now though.

I feel like they could have boosted his value. There absolutely must be another shoe dropping. There could not possibly be a way this happens without the Lakers adding another piece... I have to believe that.

Even if the GM's hated him, this is a move that could have definitely been done at the Trade Deadline.

At least give the Ball-Russell experiment a shot.

Someone on Twitter, LakerChapo called this trade 23 hours ago.

I'm not on Twitter, but a friend told me. Anyone follow him?

Freakin hate it. Should have bring Jerry on board...
Go back and check stats that Trodgers posted on DLO. He was our best player, why trade him now? Pair him up with Ball and see what happens.
I knew Magic will eventually do something stupid, didn't take long...

I'm shocked by this move, but I'm holding out really grading it until we see what else falls. This seems like a domino move, its just the first one.

We basically traded a number two pick for cap room. We better deliver next year in free agency

had a feeling this new FO would overreact in an attempt to "establish themselves"

seems like this could be that overreaction. PG better be a laker by tomorrow

    1. You don't trade that talent for cap room unless there's a huge shoe dropping soon. (PG this year and cap room for a huge FA next year.)

    2. Dlo must be a pos to coaching staff and management. You don't trade that talent unless that's the case.

At the moment, I have no way to justify this move. Absolutely no way no matter which way you look at it.

If Clarkson/27/28 doesn't happen this week, then it's a really bad look for the Lakers. Or hell maybe they even keep Clarkson?

Man... I'm struggling to understand how we valued him so differently than the league. I have to believe the Lakers explored his value. I have to believe the Lakers did their due diligence based on everything we've seen... So what we're saying here is that Indiana was so uninterested in Russell, they'd rather have some late 1sts?
