Not too surprised. As much as I don't know how Magic and Rob Lowe will be as a FO, I do feel like they won't tolerate a team that won't compete, no matter how talented the players might be. You bring it, or your head is on the chopping block.

Better mentoring and guidance on and off the court. Help them make the transition from college to the pros, handling the LA media and spotlight in general. More patience and a true commitment to their development.

Honestly, I love all our young guys and don't mind as much as others the up and down progress they've shown, but it is time to start separating the men from the boys. Find out who you want going forward. We realistically can't be developing 6-7 young dudes at one time and expect to be competing. I don't think the FO is going to get rid of them all or 7 out of 8, but I can see a plan this offseason of trading some for PG and going after Biff or Hayward in FA. The young guys we do keep would look a lot better playing with players that can actually elevate their own game as well as the young guys. Send 2 or 3 young guys out with the picks and try to make a run. Suck one more year out of Deng/Moz and then their 2 year deals become more palatable with a pick attached.

I'm fine with trading our young guys away for relatively young star players and becoming relevant again, but Russell for Ball? That's going backwards, that's starting over in a development cycle. And LOL at trying to see if JC is our PG of the future, he's not. I knew that was a Magic move, had his fingerprints all over it, Luke is not that clueless.

If it is a Magic move, he needs to back off and let Luke coach. Trying to find a showtime PG in 2017 is much like Phil's ideology with the triangle.

Run with them - long leashes. Let them have bad nights playing 35 minutes a night. Give them constructive feedback. Never, ever, ever talk bad about them in the press. Never talk bad about them in private either. Praise what they've done right, and give them one thing to work on. Be patient. This is a season of losing games. No sense losing the players, too.

Rough night for DAR. Very rough. Turnovers, missed shots, fouling out. Not a good look. Although it was at least nice to see he and Clarkson get some run together.

the lesson here is we can't develop 6 youngsters at the same time, we need to trim the fat. If we can move Russell for a vet I'm all for it.

Edit: did not catch Doc's comment lol, now I look like a plagiarist

At this rate we will be lucky to get a 2nd round pick for him.

If you want to develop guys, run that. Ennis gets scraps at 1. Nwaba gets scraps at 2. Young gets scraps at 3. Nance gets scraps at 4. Black gets them at 5.

That should be the line up for better or worse at this point.

It actually should have been the lineup for most of the year.

Right. Even if we don't like guys we should be playing them and hyping them up and How much we love them. I don't care what's happening behind the scenes. Put your poker faces on and pump these guys up.

Has DLO committed some kind of violent crime? If the answer is no then enough with trying to teach him lessons because you don't like his haircut or celebration dance or whatever. Showcase him until the end of the season and then trade him if you really hate him that much.

    Awesome quotes.

Russell: "Still trying to figure it out. Different role and stuff like that. It's whatever."

Russell (on Luke's not starting him with JC): "It's great. I hope he's doing what he expects. But it is what it is."
