Russell just hasn't developed at the same rate as his peers. It doesn't mean he sucks...it just means he's not going to be the superstar or even all star that eveyrone thinks he's going to be.

I mean...what I'm looking at is his efficiency....yeah he's averaging more points but his fg% actually went down and his TO's are up slightly. That shows me that Russell actually has not improved this year.

I thought surely Russell would have a big year with a better coach, but injuries plus his general attitude towards the game has really ticked me off and I'm totally for trading Russell NOW while he still has value because I believe he will never be a star in this league.

It's interesting that other teams want him and the Lakers won't give him up. Almost like they know something...

Trodgers....I'm down to make a bet that Russell never scratches an all star game.

    Thoughts?

They better not let DLO get in the way of getting Butler.

They could have given up all the young guns if it would have yielded Butler and Cousins. It will be interesting to see what Cousins does after next season because my thought for the past 2 years was he gave subtle indications that he wants to be a Laker. He has complemented the team on more than one occasion, and he seems very friendly towards the players after the game even with the beefing with Randle, which is probably not even serious.

Sure. I'll put him down for eight. ;)

I can't help but recall how many people trashed Byron for ignoring analytics. Now many of those same voices are saying ignore the stats....

I'll concede the analytics and admit Russell is pretty special when considering his age and years in the league. However, he's not passing the eye test with me. I'm not ready to bench him or just give him away, but I admit I'm losing patience 1 1/2 years in.

Russell (and all the young guys at times) frustrates me too, but I've said all year I think he gets way too much of the blame for the shortcomings of this team.

Seriously, if I had to place a bet - does he make an ASG in his career or not, I'd say yes.

Too many good guards in the West is one of the reasons why I think it might be some time before he does become and All-Star

I mean I think we'll know if he has a shot in 3 years. I don't see it happening in 3 years either.

My favorite non-Laker player and a (hopefully) unleashed DLO. Tonight should be fun.
