no. 21ppg is the thing. you're blind if you don't understand that the most important thing is scoring a lot. team system and role has no impact on things like ppg, either.

    you're welcome, btw.

He's tired of taking crap from peeps at LB for not being the guy to run the team rather than a 2 guard. And TOs and yapping too much and his hair.

    He's picking his spots.

He's doing much less, but the offense looks much smoother with him doing so. He's doing what most of you wanted him to do, move the ball and keep the TO's down.

Exactly, I didn't even notice how few shots he took or made, the fact is he was in control of the offense and it ran great when he was out there. That really impressed me last night. I thought he played great! Some of those passes were seriously insane!!

What he needs to do is find a balance in controlling the game. Conley does this very well, CP3 too. Recognize when to be the distributor and when to be the scorer. Recognize who has the hot hand and feed them, and who's struggling a bit to get them an easy bucket.

He's shown improvements the past couple games since coming back from that injury.

Exactly. Everybody knows stats tell you everything.

    No need to watch games

Absolutely. This was one of the better games that he has orchestrated as a point guard. Over time he's going to learn how/when to get his own, but the most important thing is getting the offense off to a buzzing start. Sometimes that'll mean scoring his own points, sometimes it'll mean what he did yesterday. I liked it a lot.

in fairness, i was poking fun at honing in on a single stat out of context and using it as a summative evaluation of a player. but yes, context can be quantified some times and not at other times.

reading the knicks fans complaining about porzingis reminded me of many lakers fans with russell, btw.

for weeks people are complaining about his assists (lame argument, imo, but that's beside the point), and then he starts distributing and people complain he's not taking enough shots. in a win, no less.

See this is why my theory that maybe Magic suggesting or could be Luke and his staff are turning attention a little more with minutes last night to Clarkson, trying to get his talents and mojo back to the upward trajectory he's somewhat tailed off from. With DAR playing that well why all of a sudden only 19 minutes and Jordan gets 29?

i chalked it up to being in the lead and russell's nagging injuries being a backburner concern.

You guys are talking as if booker is some stat padder playing on a bad team....what exactly is this laker team? Like Using wally to correlate to booker being irrelevant later on. If dlo was avg bookers #s right now most of you guys would have him pegged as a future HOF

    Not really.

There's a narrative that Booker and Porzingis and Turner are better picks than D'Angelo and that we missed on the second pick. That's not true to people who look deeper into the numbers and situations these kids are in. The only run away favorite in the draft class is Towns. Everyone else is still up for grabs. Porzingis sure looked mortal last night and despite Booker's flashy numbers the Suns aren't going anywhere.

Nobody is saying Booker is a bad prospect, quite the opposite in fact. Booker is a good prospect, just like D'Angelo is.

wonder how many wins the lakers would have if they had a vet as talented as bledsoe.

    who cares, though? 21ppg, suckaz.

People using context reason to justify bookers #s....if dlo did same #s with equal usage and mpg nobody on here would use the "oh it's only 21ppg" or the "context" stuff. Im not saying whos better, but booker is playing at a high lvl, the fact the coaches feel its ok to play him that many minutes and gives him green light means he has earned the coaches trust, unlike dlo....we praising a guy who posted 4/6 because he only had 1TO? Really

Russell is being groomed to be an elite playmaker and elite scorer...eventually. It's extremely difficult for a young player to learn both of those roles while balancing when and how to do each. If Dlo was given 37mpg and a green light to primarily score I'd imagine his stats would look different.
