Who's making excuses? We're just stating the obvious that it takes some more time and to say after three games that it's time to worry makes no sense. You jumped over everyone (and I did to a degree as well) over people criticizing Randle after a shaky pre-season and now you're doing the same for Russell.

Also Steph averaged 18 and 6 in his second season and then dropped off badly at 14 and 6.

Russell's coming along just fine. 23 pts, 8 dimes, 4 boards, 3 blocks and a steal.

Turnovers are definitely still a work in progress but all the doom and gloom around him is overblown.

    Please.

Russell had to play his rookie season playing Kobe ball with Byron coaching. Then you come here and try to compare players who had free reign in their team as the centerpiece?

You're screaming and whining over the first 4 games because he's had a few tough games on the road on a team who's still finding an identity.

Again, let them talk. 23 pts, 8 dimes, 4 boards, 3 blocks and a steal. He's coming along and will only get better under Luke. Just need him to really focus on cutting out the turnovers.

Yep and Russell made his whining look pretty silly today.

He's in his SECOND season and just beginning.

Good grief people get a grip.

We got our own little stat stuffer, the turnovers are still a concern but solid building blocks taken from this game.

i didn't see tada screaming and whining. he said that elite guards tend to show it by the second year, regardless of age. i think he's right. he didn't say russell wasn't going to, but that by the end of the season, we should have a good idea of his trajectory. i agree. i'm not going to put specific numbers on it, but if a guy's got it, you know by the end of the second year.

It comes with the territory of being tasked as the playmaker in a new offense.

How much of those guards had to play with an over the hill former superstar who was jacking it up more than anyone in the league and play for the worst coach in NBA history? That has to be factored in.

It is really sad that we can't even enjoy a win for Russell hate.

I know. I think that one could get ugly if we have those trademark end of the quarter collapses

I've been easy on Randle because no one expects him to become a superstar. And don't get me wrong I'm not saying Russell will be a scrub. He's shown glimpses of brilliance.

I'm just pointing out that we're probably at a crossroad of his career. This season will determine if he has the potential to become a superstar, an allstar, or just a good player.

Thanks abeer, you said it better than I could. I have very high expectations of Russell and I hope he hits that trajectory.

Key words? End of their second year lol. I don't wanna sit here and look up say someone who broke out say their third or fourth seasons..

Personally, I think he's gonna be great and can't wait to see him next to Westbrook ;) ... who in his first three years went 15.3 , 16.1 to then a breakout 21.9.
