Only trade for Westbrook if he agrees to an extension. No way on earth I do the trade if he doesn't.

After watching him improve from year 1 to year 2, reading how much he works hard and seeing him improve his interviews and getting a glimpse of how he sees the game - I think he is going to be a superstar in this league. I just hope it's not the one dimensional Harden type superstar.

Nah..Russell plays the point, can score and dish so he is a two edged sword. Defensively needs to put in more effort...seem to float out there. Conversely, Russell is not as bad as Harden who is a total matador. Truthfully...no one is currently as bad as Harden on defense.

Getting back to the topic at hand (of which by the way we need to start making new threads for the new season... maybe after Summer League?)

D'Anegelo still doesn't really get down in a defensive stance the way he needs to. He bends mostly at the hip. I saw it on Twitter where we as a SL unit have depended greatly on our length defensively and that's true, but it doesn't have to be all we do. We aren't the fleetest of foot out there between Russell, Nance Jr., and Ingram but we can show even better effort on that end than we've seen (especially Russell and Ingram).

Russell was sitting next to Bill Berka prior to our game today. I love seeing this because Russell knows that he can learn a lot from these older guys who have tons of knowledge and wisdom.

Kid is wise beyond his years. He knows this is gonna take a long time, but he uses the criticism as motivation just like Kobe did and is putting the work in. Right now the focus needs to be his defense. If he gets that ironed out and can play defense like he's capable of he's gonna be around for a long time.

I like Russell a lot, but I'm not sure "wise" is a great descriptor for him.

It's a good quote but honestly I'd be equally impressed if he said, "I like to come out and show what I have on day one. Haters will hate, but true fans will know how great I can be."

I didn't say Russell was wise yet. I said its good he is hanging around an old vet and coach in Bill Bertka who has some wisdom for the kid

Feast or famine with this kid. I'm still high on him, but the careless turnovers and cold shooting never help.

Let's hope this game is an aberration, he was gaining much acclaim the first 3 1/2 games, he undid it all after a half of crapfest lol. I know it's not fair but he is a seen at a higher standard than most. If he does well, critics say that's expected but if he plays bad, he's more worthless than dirt.
