Ugh he'll never live that down and gonna cost him big time. He was an iffy first team all rookie, now, I think he'll fall to the second team. He'll loss endorsements in the near future until he does something special.

i think realdeal nailed it: my primary disappointment is that the organization hasn't better guided these guys. kobe's not really the mentor type, so the closest thing you have is what, bass? freaking mwp? if the head coach had been a stronger leader, maybe that offsets the weird roster surrounding the young guys, but man, you've got them being shepherded by nick young and gilbert arenas. I can't stress this enough: these guys are buddies with gilbert arenas.

Are people really that mad that Clarkson and Russell are talking about DMing girls?

Where did you hear that they're hanging out with Gilbert Arenas? Last I heard, Nick Young and Arenas were having some beef so why would Swaggy's younger teammates be hanging out with him?

I keep everything private. D'Angelo would be wise to keep his thought and his actions to himself and those closest around him. That's just the best way to operate when you're a public figure. Exercise caution and discretion at all cost.

Well...apparently that is the same problem they have in Philadelphia which Barkley touched on. When he was starting out, he had Erving to guide him how to be a professional on and off the court. He has lamented there is no strong veteran presence to establish discipline among the youngsters. There's fighting in the streets. On the other hand, Towns is fortunate to have Garnett to show him the ropes and monitor him...

No that's not the point. The point is stop talking about your business out in the public. Stop putting yourself out there to be criticized. We're Laker fans. How many of us remember the stories of the club under the Forum? Of course these guys are going to talk to girls all over the country, it comes with the territory in a lot of respects.

But if you keep quiet about it, it's not a story. I always talk about Derek Jeter being the example. He had a TON of "fun" in his career, but nobody ever beat him up for it because he did it all on his own time in his private life. He didn't talk about it. That's what I want from the kids on our team.

Basketball and competitiveness with KG yeah, but anything else like his crazed, foul mouthed, spitting, cheap shot, pick on smaller guys act and back your a** up like a punk when someone actually your size is coming after you, hope Towns can separate out from what he adopts.

^Of course, I meant the first part not the second. I don't believe Towns has the same type of personality.

God I hope not or The Beast is going to have to lay him out with one of his spinning, leveraged, high speed, elbows up if Towns didn't-have-position-and-wanted-to-contest .....legal moves to the basket. Just like he was willing already to get right back in KG's grill during the season.

But is there anything in the article that surprised you? Clarkson just said why he uses it and Russell talks about how he uses it and how he protects himself.

Did you find anything in the article that needed to be said? I'm not surprised and the information is irrelevant. They can have all the fun they want, just don't talk about it to the media. Nothing good can come from that.

A lot of stuff doesn't need to be said and to be honest Russell's comment could be helpful to future athletes to protect themselves from being catfished or accidentally getting involved in statutory rape. Yes it is preferable for them to stay quiet but I don't think their comments are worth fussing about. And them talking about it doesn't mean they are more likely to get in trouble. They are not the first athletes to talk about their sex lives nor will they be the last.

I see your point in a vacuum, but given his already shaky standing publicly I'd prefer if D'Angelo just didn't talk about this stuff. It's just not a good idea to be in the public eye right now for him.

I'm really not making that much of a fuss, but everyone is still in this thread talking about it so I'm just responding. :D
