    it's the sad truth

both nick and russ are in the wrong. nick obviously for cheating and russ for "breaking the code." but when all is said and done, russell's going to catch more flack for what he did because he broke the trust of his teammates. what goes on behind the scenes is all part of how things function in the world of pro sports and you simple don't bring that into the public eye which is what russ did

Lakers need to get some handlers around Russell to help him with this kind of crap. I've quietly questioned the team he has around him several times and this really makes it glaring. He needs a strong presence to curb this crap in the worst way.

What for? As a fan, it sucks, but I'm glad D'Angelo did this to himself, and he needs to accept responsibility for his actions. Apparently, our coach isn't a leader, and all of the vets are ostracizing him, so if it takes the whole league, twitter, and NBA beat writers to hold accountable and take responsibility, I'm all for it. How sad is that, though? Laker officials, players, and the organization can't do it; goodness, I miss Jerry.

No problem. I take no joy in posting it, but it's all over my twitter feed right now and it's news for now... Unfortunately.

True. I'll have to try and view it this way.

Russ is what 20? We all did incredibly stupid s*** when we were that age. Yes it sucks that he did that to one of his teammates. And it's incredibly stupid for Nick to basically be bragging about cheating on his soon to be wife. Get Nick the hell away from this team, I don't even care if we cut him right now. Get Lou and Nick the hell of this team, they will do nothing but hurt Russ/Clark growth as individuals here.

And it would be incredibly stupid if we trade Russ. We've stuck with players with way worse off the court issues. If Russ matures and produces on the court, all of this will be forgotten.

Russel is done. He broke a code that is much worse than any law. If i was on the team i wouldn't trust him with anything. Even 2 years from now.
Other players from other teams will trash talk him on this subject for the rest of his career. And its gonna be a weak spot for him.
In one act he ruined his career from being a star to be probabaly a medicore player, and ruined the building of the club. I would prefer to hear he sold drugs than this. Stupid kid.

Russell is very young. If he wasn't an NBA player, he would be a sophomore at Ohio State. He is 20 years old and is going to make some pretty poor choices. Everyone does at that age. It compounds itself because he is seen as the future leader of the franchise, there are 8 games left, and the Lakers are a 15-win team. But it is totally cringe worthy and not really reflective of the status that we expect from the future leader of the Lakers.

It will blow over and Russell will/should learn from this. Nobody knows what he was thinking and Scott has often questioned his maturity. However, it will not be forgotten and yes, it will dog him for the rest of his career be here or elsewhere. So what is this with Russell hanging out with Arenas?

    I actually find him entertaining
And agree with a lot of his takes
He has a decent point of view
    On young player mistakes

Can't wait for Byron to be fired, and I can quit rhyming
When I want to post, it messes with my timing

I think everyone is making a huge deal out of a immature kid moment. We've all made mistakes when we were young, this should not destroy a career, him being isolated will teach him a lesson not to mess with ppl even if it was a prank initially, but dlo is our future. If we as a fan base can get through the Kobe allegations in the past then this is nothing. It's the social media generation, where EVERYTHING IS BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION

I don't think it's a career destroyer, but it's blown up into a real problem. I had hoped it would blow over, but the national media has grabbed it and now we're going to talk about this for at least the rest of this season. He has to find some way to reach out to his teammates again and to grow the eff up really quickly. Players around the league are losing respect for him and that's a huge blow to our FA.

This is probably the icing on the cake for the worst season in franchise history. No wins, maybe no draft pick, no chemistry, and now even lower odds of making a splash in FA?

    Yikes.
