I completely agree. Especially about the lack of leadership being a part of this.

It's been an issue all year long. Kobe is too busy making a documentary about playing basketball to actually be part of the team. Metta World Peace is just old and stinky at this point. Who else is there? Nick freaking Young? Lou Williams hasn't been the leader/mentor you'd hope he'd be be. Brandon Bass probably is waiting for his apartment lease to be up so he can get out of town... Sacre and Kelly are genuine leaders on this team somehow. No wonder this team is rudderless.

I think what D'Angelo did was pretty immoral.

Even though trading Russell might not be an option, I wouldn't be opposed if the FO listened to deals, but it would have to be real good. What Nick Young did, and admitted to is wrong, and he should be ashamed for doing such actions. Russell HAS to issue an apology to the team, do whatever to get the team together, calling it a players meeting only, whatever, just do something. Even though it might not fix anything, it is a step in the right direction. A quality of a great leader is that he is respected, and that he is trusted. Right now, D'Lo has none of that. He is immature, and I hate to admit it, but Byron was right when he was talking about D'Lo being immature. I do hope that D'Lo learns from this, but this offseason he HAS to take a good long hard look in the mirror and reflect on what he has done. This isn't college, this is the Lakers, this is the NBA. These dudes will eat him alive if he doesn't grow up.

As for Nick Young, I want him GONE this offseason. Buy out his contract, do whatever it takes, but I do NOT want to see him back next season. Dude is a cancer on every team he has been on. I really wished he turned it around since he was playing back home in LA, but he's the same guy he has always been. Honestly, I did not like that D'LO, and JC were hanging around Nick. They needed to be hanging around a better role model. That is why I salute Randle for what he has done. You do not see him getting into any trouble, you didn't see him when the story of the harassment came out.

This is such a microcosm of the entire season. We have less than 10 games remaining, and I honestly don't care about any of them but Kobe's last game. This franchise has fallen so far from grace, its pathetic. The organization is a mess from top to bottom.

This is exactly how I feel. I don't think Randle can be a superstar, or to be honest, even a star. But he can be a very good player in this league that starts on a championship team. He's like a rich man's Kenneth Faried. If we keep our pick, great. Keep that person. If not, great. Next year can be Year One with a completely clean slate. Just Unload D'Load, Clarkson too, Swaggy...Lou is a cancer on the court that plays losing basketball. I'd keep Randle, Nance whoever we get in the draft (if we keep our pick) and maybe Black. Everyone else needs to be new. The coach needs to be new. Mitch and Jim need to be gone. I am so sick and tired of this. We are the Lakers for goodness sake. We have become the worst, most dysfuntional franchise in the league a mere 3 years after Dr. Buss died.

None of the young guys are getting traded. You won't get the same value in return.

FO won't throw away 2-3 years of rebuilding on a stupid video. DLo needs to apologize to the team and squash this asap.

Here's a link where Ding talks about what D'Angelo was thinking apparently. Ding says D'Angelo thought it was a joke and that he and Nick prank each other a lot. This was a prank gone wrong and that he didn't think it would ever get out there. Ding also says the team isn't going to consider trading him over just this incident, but certainly they're concerned about his maturity.

My guess is that DAR blew this off and acted like no big deal, and that compounded things.

And just to rhyme, Red Bull gives you wings.

Not sure about that. This is bad for team trust. He is the pg, the leader of the team. Every dude on that roster likely cheats. Most NBA players do. They are probably all thinking the same thing, "That could have been me."
