So I saw Russ got shot again tonight, had to bring out the stretcher for him and everything. Oh, what? He sprained his ankle? Ohhhh ok, lol. Somebody might want to get him checked out for extremely low pain tolerance disorder, scaring us like he's broken or torn something everytime he gets hurt.

Trudell said he's never sprained an ankle before so that's obviously why he has such little pain tolerance. He's never dealt with much pain on the basketball court. Just something he's gonna have to learn to deal with. He can't be our franchise cornerstone if he goes out with every little knick nack.

He sprained an ankle vs the Kings earlier in the season. He reacted the same way. Then he got hit in the shin against the Grizzlies, reacted the same way, Randolph had to pick him up and tell Roy, "come get your man, brush". At some point, stop panicking and being carried off the court, it's a turned ankle, it happens. It happened to Zach Randolph 2 games ago, he limped on. I understand being cautious, but man I hate to think of our future being soft, at least don't appear weak in front of the opponent, wait til you're in the tunnel to cry. Don't get me wrong though, Russ is my current favorite Laker, I'm just having a little fun at the kid's expense.

Russell isn't soft. He just doesn't know how to deal with these injuries yet. It's not that big of a deal as long as it doesn't linger on next season. Yes he's had a few little injuries this season, but for the most part playing best basketball his whole life and never dealing with them until this season it's not hard to see why he's having trouble dealing with the pain. Zach Randolph is a 15 year veteran. Compared that to a 20 year rook it's completely different. The Lakers were being cautious, but I'm sure he wanted to play through it. He tried a few months ago when he had the other sprain. He'll be just fine.

Welp...he just had to go down against Mudiay didn't he? Luckily Mudiay had a meh game. It just sucks that Russell couldn't get a single W over Mudiay all year. And Russell has been meh for a little bit now. I'm not happy with how he's finishing this season. Yes, Scott is like 99% to blame....but Russell just hasn't looked the same since Lou Williams has come back. It's annoying because this video of Nick Young just surfaced too and I feel like that's also having an effect on D-Lo. He needs to power through this.

yeah, his recent performance and off-court stuff has been a big buzzkill. I've been watching less and less, so i'll continue to hold on to that run of ten games where he was showing allstar potential and pretend like his mentors aren't nick young and gilbert freaking arenas.

Yeah he is. He's 20 years old and physically weak though so while I don't support it, I understand it. Still, he needs to not be so dramatic. The kid is a complete drama queen about injuries and I hate that stuff. I hated it when Paul Pierce did it and I don't like seeing him do it either. You don't have to be Kobe about injuries, but you could still be a little tough about it. Hopefully he grows out of it.

He could have torn his achilles based on that reaction.

That's what I thought when I first saw the play, especially the way he was holding the achilles area just like Kobe in 2013

Glad it's just an ankle sprain

I thought the same thing Weezy did. It's a little embarrassing to see your Alpha go down in a heap every time he gets a typical basketball injury (turned ankles, bumped knee). I don't love it.

just shut him down for the season. hope he doesn't become a d-rose type of player where the slightest touch will sideline him for a month

can this season just end already?

DA's struggles have made it easier for me to step away from Lakers game, for better or worse.
