These showtime guys refusing to critique their boy Byron is embarrassing.

The showtime era has succumb to senility.

You got Byron being Byron. Worthy, Green, and Coop defending him on TWC. Magic always saying something ridiculous on social media. Mychal Thompson has always been senile. Rambis retweeting porn twitter accounts. Kareem criticizing Dirk as a one-trick pony.

As Reggie Miller (who is also quite senile these days) would say, "not a good look guys."

Showtime are like the undefeated Dolphins. Totally unable to give respect if they see it as a threat. If I were Thompson, I'd be thrilled. Wouldn't you rather announce a game that had DA in it than one with umm...Young or Williams?

Not just showtime. It's been a lot of old school cats. Every time Steph goes off we have guys like Barkley and Robertson reminding us how bad defenses are today and how they would've gotten obliterated in the golden age of basketball.

I said in the free agency thread. If Durant looks off the table this offseason and next (meaning he doesn't sign a 1 and 1 with OKC) Batum should be our main target.

I like Batum. I'd also like Barnes, Derozan, or even Parsons or Deng would be just fine.

Can't believe some people are actually critiquing D'Angelo and his celebrations. This kid is 20 years old. It's been a brutal season for the Lakers yet another one. Byron has had handcuffs on him since day one. He pretty much carried us to victory and came huge in the clutch. He is every right to celebrate. He's confident and as swagger. That isn't a bad thing.

I like Batum the best because he's the best defender of all of them. With Clarkson as the other wing, we need a strong defender to slow down at least one of the other team's wings.

I still like Barnes the best of the bunch, but I can certainly live with Batum.

this season has been over for a long time

just play the young kids and have them develop and go along with kobe's retirement tour. that's it

there should be no other things on this season's to do list aside from keeping that pick

Far too much hate for Russ today on tv (ESPN). Only a few defended him, like Bomani jones and LeBatard, Blackistone, and Kornheisher. Idiots like Wilbon gave B0ron full credit for this, saying the benching and having him watching the end of games from there made him better (yeah, ok, sure). Most were hating on his celebrations which I find ridiculous, as players today young and old alike do this all over the league every night. I'd say he received some Kobe-level hate for being "cocky", which even young Kobe didn't receive, because back then everyone, ESPN included, still liked him because Colorado hadn't happened yet. I think people forget there was a time when the media actually liked young Kobe and celebrated his game, so it's kinda sad to me that Russ is already getting hate for having fun in a horrible season, and showing confidence outwardly. Pathetic on the part of the media, but that's what they do, try and knock athletes down (as well as rich and famous people in other professions).

If there was any doubt if the kid has "it", the doubt was put to rest last night. I'm so happy I actually watched that live, one of the first real times I was truly happy watching a Laker game this year. The kid is the real the deal, fearless.
