Honestly, he should have not even tried his ankle last game and sat out. However, he'd probably be criticized for that; all this macho, old school, tough guy act is getting old quickly. Oh, and the platitudes. Whatever. Russell just isn't tough enough I guess...

If it was another coach who said that, it might not bother us. But since we know where it's coming from, and know that everything out of his mouth is pure crap, he gets no benefit of the doubt. As you were.

It's not so much the comment, but the mentality that he has; what if Russell ruined his ankle even more playing on it. This is your 2nd pick, You don't take chances. Although, this is the same organization that had Nash doing calf raises after he broke his leg.

    Easy there bro

It's just Byron. Not worth it.

On the plus side, if you are going to lead men, you need to be willing to give it a go. He did. He's not in an easy position at 19 trying to run an NBA team coached by a moron.

I'm proud of Russell for playing on his ankle. If he's cleared by doctors, then the only thing he's risking is pain management. Give him a couple of ankle braces like his idol Curry and get him back on the court whenever he can play. If he can't go, he can't go but I'm very happy that he's trying to. Better than having him sit out when he doesn't have to with a whiny excuse for an injury.

Good on him for showing some toughness.

Really missed D'Angelo tonight. This offense just looks so disjointed without his facilitating and his ability to control and dictate tempo. Hope he can go Tuesday.

Agreed. The offense was just awful without him and Kobe. Horrid and pretty much unwatchable.

I guess Baxter Holmes doesn't come around much, we've known about the D'ANGERUSS hoodie since Thursday. Guess he probably doesn't always notice the funny stuff while searching for the most negative story possible though.

I know right. I did catch Russell and Lou going off in our losses so that was nice.

maybe with some time off, we can really get a chance to work on that huertas/sacre two-man game again.

Russell: "I have never sprained my ankle before" this explains the falling down like he was shot. Never knew what its like before.

He said in HS and college they wanted him/demanded he take his ankles and he said that was painful so he stopped. he never even wore ankle braces.

    Very lucky I guess, wow
