Wrong! Boron gave us "manning up" and something about a foxhole.

He's improving exponentially with unlimited playing. Who would thunk? And he is not punching people out, a plus if you ask me.

You don't know. May be Okafor would've knocked Moron out by now.

He's also 2nd in assists, 5th in points, and 7th in rebounds among rookies. And this is during his "bust" phase.

He had a rough start, but really came into the game as he got more minutes.

    Go figure.

    Two things from this...

1.) He produces when he plays? Who knew? Not the smart elite coach we have, it was the dumb fans.

2.) We have a 20-5-5 player on our hands when he really settles in and adjusts to the league.

Let him play and watch him produce. Pretty simple.

When D'Angelo is healthy he's going to be a legitimate triple-double threat every night. His rebounding and defense have both been better than expected.

Also his range isn't just more accurate, but he's pulling up from a fairly great distance right now too. Last night in the 3rd he took a three from probably 26 feet out and got nothing but bottom. It was pretty impressive. I also love how much more comfortable he's been driving even among the trees.

To be fair he said he didn't think he was a double-double guy, obviously he meant a triple-double guy! :D

Realistically, this kid is a 17/6/6 player when you know how to use him. And that's just a start.

DAR's doing what he said he would despite not being the strongest, fastest, most athletic PG. "Figuring it out". In spite of Boron making it much harder than it should have been for D'Angelo to do. Reminds me of Clarkson's rapid progress 2nd half of last season once he got to play big minutes. Fortunately it's much earlier in the season for Russell.

He's learning, he just needed patience and time as many here said early on. Now he's getting more playing time, and he's been given the ball more to run things (even if he still has to defer to Kobe and feed him him the ball by yhe 3 point line), and he's producing. His threes are no longer constantly coming up short as he seems to be adjusting to the NBA line, and one of the best things about him, he's not turning the ball over very much as he learns. In a couple years when he has more of an NBA body and some more experience, he has a chance to be very, very good.

Very nice game last night. I love it when he gets more minutes like this. Unfortunately when Lou returns, he won't. But it was great to see it for a night where he got a chance to run the second unit. I'm really liking our young core.

Typical taken out of context statement! Tsk tsk!

That post was in response to someone saying that Russell on another team would be a double-double guy this season. I don't think there's any other team where he'd be a double-double guy right now.

I said in the future he'd be a triple-double threat, I don't see that as likely this season.

    Get your reporting skills up!

^ it was me saying that, that's why i brought it up :D
He could easily be close to 10 assists a game under a guy like
    ... let's say MDA or Marc ;).

If we had some bigs who could actually roll and finish around the rim it would help with his assists as well. He's constantly finding bigs after the screen but they don't know what to do with it. Hibbert can't roll or finish around the rim, Bass cant seem to do anything, Randle can roll and finish but he doesn't know how to set a decent pick. Black would probably work on the roll and finish but he doesn't see the light of day.
