Yeah I thought he looked great. Terrific lob reception from Schroder, a couple great swats in the lane, set some picks, knocked down FT’s, scored a point a minute. What’s not to like?! Hope he heals up quick.
Great start, notched a season high in just 8 minutes in his first game. Hopefully the back is nothing serious, because he's playable in non blowout minutes. We can't say the same for the Average Greek or Cacock (who I'm a fan of). Could be a nice dirt cheap option to finish out the season. Only two issues I saw and they were already covered: 1) looks like he just learned how to run, looks very unnatural at bending. 2) got moved off his spot with minimal contact. If we keep him, need the guys to show him how to utilize and strengthen his base. But for a 12th man, he fits the role we needed perfectly. Another perk if he sticks, we can go BPA on the buy out market. My preference would be another wing who can D up (GR3 unless someone else shakes loose).
That's what one can do with a 7-4 wingspan, while being close to 7ft tall. He needs some serious athletic training and fix that "Kwame walk" and add 10-15 lbs on his frame. But all this can be done, not too difficult for a 25-year old.
He made the most of his minutes which is all he really needs to do. I expected nothing from him and was pleasantly surprised.
he has the right players around him to succeed. just what morris said. just be a defensive presence. rebound. shotblock or at least change shots. lob threat. dont worry trying to create. just screen and roll on offense. pretty much it. he has all the tools for that along with a great team to help him succeed.
I know not everyone's gonna work with this team, but we can't talk enough about this chemistry, and how it brings the best out of the new guys. They see this genuine brotherhood, and want to be a part of it immediately. You know the Lakers loved what he did against GS. A great story. I hope he heals up and continues to play at this level.
Oh, this is terrific. Frankly, I'd start the kid, see what he does. He replaces Marc, the rotation stays the same. I wonder if Bron can make him look even better.
I'm a defender of the Gasol bros but I'm not opposed to this. I think Marc can offer a lot to this team but if we're burning him at 30 mins a game, we're eventually going to be at a disadvantage. The 15-20 min range is better. Jones pretty much does what Gasol can't, youth can afford him more minutes too. I think he's a great pickup for this team.
Dang, just realized, with AD and Gasol out, Jones can get some more quality minutes and keep impressing tonight. This'll be a good challenge for him against Indy.
8/4/1 and a block. Give his kid a chance and you got McGee (minus the experience)... I think it's pretty obvious by now.
