I liked some of the big men that were left but I don’t see an argument against this pick. He was the best guy available and fills another need - shooting.

The age thing is ridiculous. Playing at 35 is nothing now.

I like this pick pissing me off the Lakers just didn't do the same thing last year with Whitmore. Oh well at least lesson learned

Reminds me a bit of Reaves with his age just a took awhile to put everything together but he looks like a good athlete as well?

Went BPA over need but when you have a top 8 guy fall in your lap, you have to jump at that.

A gym rat movement shooter, JJ just found his favorite player on the roster. He'll be a good mentor for him.

When abeer and I talked about him in the draft thread in March (page 1), right after he dropped 40, I thought he looked like a quicker Wally. That's my initial comp.

Haven’t really paid attention to this draft class at all but glad to hear the consensus that this was a great value pick both from BPA and fit perspective

Now this Kobe connection is just a nice bonus instead of one of the only saving graces like with the JHS pick lol

I don't know him but excited with the overall sentiment. Looks like we hit gold. Eager to watch Summer League.

Looks like we just got our AR backup.

love the pick and was going to be pissed if his name wasn't called. i was in on this guy and posted about prior to the tournament, but then he got mocked in the top 10 consistently, and i figured we had no shot (much like our scouts, i guess).

yeah, maybe it's a lesson learned.

no one wants to make the reaves comparison because it feels lazy (country white guys, etc.), but...it's definitely there in many ways. agree with weezy that he's more of a 3 than a 2, but he can spend time either place, i think.

will be interesting to see how he does going forward vs guys taken after him (i'm on delay, so i don't know who yet, but da silva, holmes, walter, missi, etc.). any of those guys would have been solid picks, but this is definitely the way i'd have gone.

    good work.

edit: lol, catching up, and the guys i had directly after knecht for our pick all went directly after him (save for holmes).

deja vu from last year, when podz, whitmore, whitehead, and clowney went right after jhs.

but i wasn't nearly as excited about jhs as i am about knecht.

double edit: then holmes goes! will be fun to track over time.

It might actually be pronounced how you said, but it’s just easier for his family to tell it to people that way in the US. I do not introduce myself to most people with my last name how it’s actually pronounced because they look at me like “uh..wha.. what was that again?”, so I just say it Americanized haha. I think many people have done that other the years after they come here, names start to change and evolve over the decades. Not that any of this matters, I just thought it was funny/interesting as well haha, great pick, go Lakers!

The athletic numbers look not just passable but good????
Max is going to have hard time getting minutes against this guy.

He reminds me a lot of Kris Middleton with the way his body frame and how he scores

i think it means we probably let prince walk. max was already facing some odds, imo. up to him to work his way in. i think he can do it, though--i'm higher on him than you are.

Who invited Rambis? JJ should ask why Linda doesn't like him.
