He is going to get regular minutes very soon if Vando doesn't come back ASAP. In fact, Vando's slow recovery might be a blessing in disguise for Dalton.
#freeknecht His 2 3's really changed the game by stopping the bleeding and getting the Lakers back into shooting range. He competes on D surprisingly well and the offense just opens up with him in there - I honestly think he should jump Max in the rotation
He’s way better defensively than I expected. The way people talked about him before the Lakers drafted him I thought he didn’t try or falls asleep all the time on defense. Looks like he just needs some work on technique, but even when he gets beat, he’s long enough and athletic enough to recover when he gets beat and most importantly he is giving maximum effort out there.
He needs more minutes - point blank He actuallly kinda saved us tonight when were down 22 - he hit a couple of 3's in a row and he just competed out there. I hate even saying this...but man he may need to play over Christie and maybe even take some of DLO's minutes (put him out there with Reaves Rui AD Bron).
Yes please. Max has him speed wise a bit on D but DK will get smoother and better and is bigger and stronger and he’s a much finer offensive player. He’s got IT and the confidence that comes with that. He was the SEC player of the year. I don’t think JJ will d**k around and not play his most impactful players the most minutes.
Yeah. I also thought he looked more ready than Max which is definitely a good thing. He can just play IMO and I think he’s going to keep earning more and more time on the floor.
I agree, I think he's ready for more minutes. He'll make some rookie mistakes, and that's OK. We need more depth.
It's waaaay early and we're not at full health, but he's been the best bench player and the go to offensive weapon in the 2nd unit. Might have to give him the nickname Daredevil cause he truly is the man without fear. a level of confidence you don't often see in a rookie who's not a generational top 3 pick. I was surprised he let the 3 fly right in KD's face considering KD has a 16 ft wingspan
I’m with the consensus here- Dalton is already better than Max and should be ahead of him in the rotation. I expect this to happen around a month from now because I think that JJ doesn’t want to totally deflate Christie’s confidence so early in the season.
Loved the look of him so far, when he pulled up for that three after Durant (I think) gave him the room was cold. Lots of opposing teams fans have been saying how did he fall so far, which is great!
And KD is his idol. Dalton didn’t get star struck, he let it fly no hesitation. Anyone can get it including KD
