He's not efficient quite yet, but I like his aggressiveness on the offensive end.

I want to see him play better defense or at least try a bit harder on that end.

If he wants to play this year, it will come down to him being adequate on that end.

Because if his shot isn't falling, he's going to be pretty useless for us. Although I will say his gravity will open up the floor so maybe he won't be completely useless.

But if I'm the Lakers coaching staff, that's what I'm preaching to him. He has the tools to be good on that end...

A very good NBA comp for Dalton Knecht is actually a guy named Wally Szczerbiak...not sure if anyonde remembers him but he averaged 14/4/2 on 49/41/86 splits in 10 NBA seasons. At his peak, he was around 19-4-3 on 49/40/90 splits. He also entered the league at around the same age...he was 22 years old out of Miami University.

I think his best years were on some of those KG squads in Minny.

My hope is he can be Middleton. That’s a ceiling but not out of reach, imo.

standing reach and wingspan are really close (you don’t play with your head). Athleticism is pretty close. Middleton was maybe a little better off the dribble at the same stage, but I can squint and see it.

Of course it definitely will NOT be said when he has a chance on a FT with a made 3 shot.

Honestly this is a terrible highlight reel: I have nothing against Mr. Kiki but there's got to be some better stuff out there. Almost all the dunks are someone passing to him alone underneath the basket where there no one within 5 feet of him. Then other are of him passing to a jumpshooter (like just a normal pass).

He’s already looking more comfortable, 8 points so far in the 1st quarter, 2 absolute splash threes and this dunk

Poor mans Ray Allen? Hard to find guys with that vertical and the jump shot together.

Ray Ray loves the pull up jumper

Team completely went away from Knecht in the 2nd, just ignored him to take bad shots and ugly turnovers, East and Brown were awful, 14-2 run by the Cavs, went from being up to down 36-28. Not much point in Knecht even playing if these dudes are all just looking to get theirs. And yes, I agree Zen, aside from maybe a few nice plays per game, Lewis is awful.

Yeah, that dude's gonna be solid. Real solid. If he plays ANY defense (that he clearly capable of, with his physical attributes), that SF spot is locked.

If JJ isn't an idiot (and also because he knows nothing about defense) he should play him 20 min/game.

As a sophomore in HS he was 5'8" and grew 5 inches by his junior year, and another 5 inches since then. Does that seem weird to you?

Not tryna imply PEDs or HGH or anything. A spurt of growth like that? Maybe I'm so old I forgot what it felt like to get taller and taller, like every 3 months you need to buy five new pairs of pants.

The kid looks good so far.
