Sorry. I just don't buy the hype. I keep my distance from people. I turn away when people walk by. I don't intentionally breath on them. But this whole isolation/mask business is doing more harm than good according to a lot of qualified people.

So not good to put a mask on a little infant is quite likely. Really not good at all though if there is a thing to this rare instance of some really young children being at risk of really bad symptoms or even death as well now from the virus. But your body your choice is not the case indoors as you know the bigger push is to keep your "shedding" away from others should you have it and be asymptomatic. More than protecting you from someone else's virus if you wind up in the same space indoors.

    my avi is wearing one

I'm ok to do it out of respect for others and especially elderly who are more susceptible. Am I living in fear of catching it? No. Am I tired of isolation? Pretty much, but I work remotely online, so I'm sure my transition is easier than most folks. Too bad there hasn't been a reason to make new gifs.

@helljumper Look, I don't want to trivialize what's going on here. It's a really serious bug that is killing a lot of people. It seems to be very contagious as well. But what is this shutdown accomplishing? Are we going to act like this until there is a vaccine? That's 9 months away at the earliest. So is the entire economy going to be shut down for what is a small fraction of the population that is at risk? Yes, there are stories of young healthy people getting it an dying, but the percentage of those people are insignificant to the amount of people that are over 80 and dying.

The way we are doing this is going to slow down our fight against this disease and cause wave after wave after wave. There really needs to be a balanced approach to this. What we're getting is idiots of all ages and backgrounds protesting in packed groups where at risk people are there and in danger, but then on the other side of the coin there are idiots who want everyone to never leave their homes and wait until the virus just dies on it's own to where anyone who had it has either recovered or died.

The young healthy people need to be out and going about their business to get a herd immunity cooking in order to protect the at risk people. Just have elderly and people with bad pre-existing conditions stay home. Have the rest of us go about our normal lives, contract the virus like any other cold or flu and build up the immunity out here so the old and weak can leave their homes. The way we are doing it is going to crush the economy which will kill millions in indirect ways. And if you don't believe me, look around at the communities being hit hardest by this virus right now. They are typically minority communities with low income. Low income isn't just about having to share an apartment with a roommate and not having a 65 inch television.

I wear a mask when it's needed. I have a friend who is battling cancer and needs me to pick groceries up for him. I sterilize stuff with Lysol wipes before I give it to him and wear a mask during the whole ordeal.

The people who are at risk need to stay home. The rest of us need to get back to work to create a world the at risk can eventually return to, cause at this rate, we are months away.

I have a question: If another country were to sabotage the United States in such a way that it crashed our economy like this virus has, what would be our response? I would be willing to guarantee we would go to war because that would be an act of war. The war would then cost thousands of American lives. How is that scenario different than what is going on here? Why would we be willing sacrifice lives for American freedom and our interests in that scenario and not this one?

When it comes to children under the age of 18, I really don't see it as a sacrifice. The death rate is so low. They are being harmed more by being kept out of school.

How come only males and females are getting the Coronavirus? I haven't heard of one single person of the other 59 genders getting it. Weird.

Yep. This is about tanking the economy to the point where Trump can't be reelected. I don't like Trump and wouldn't vote for him. But with this deliberate attack on the citizens, our economy, our freedom, I might vote for Trump just to spite the Democrats.
