I think the hard part is people just don't follow others close enough to always remember what everyone has said. For me, I will see something odd coming out of someone's mouth and I start paying more attention to them, if they explain themselves more and I can understand their position, I am always fine with that. It's the folks who come to ONLY argue and their attitude seems to matter them like street cred. Hard dudes who are breaking everyone else's backs to prove to themselves how much better they are. Blechhh!! When it becomes a hard assed ego trip, I am out every time. There are some guys who can come off like that but if you pay a little attention, they make a lot of sense, even if you don't agree, you can see their reasoning. I don't have to agree with people to like what they have to say. There are some guys who rib people but they come off to me as just having a little fun. Like they are honorary Aussies or something!! I never read one stupid thing and block someone, it has to go on for awhile, to the point that it is ruining my involvement at the site. If I had to listen to them, I would probably just bail. And isn't that why the block feature is enabled?? I am not sparing the person I am blocking, I am sparing everyone else because if I had the read their garbage, I would start to disparage them and I would get in trouble with the mods and tick off others around here. Much better for everyone involved that I am able to ignore them.
i've blocked one person in the history of my time here because they seemed to basically stalk my posts to argue. they've left, and i think it's for the best. i've never blocked slick (and often enjoy him); hell, i didn't block vasashi even during the height of his delusional deluge, largely because i realize that i come here asking for something like that (not that, but close enough that it's partly my fault). i've got strong opinions on wood (mostly negative), but i've stated my position and am just going to watch now and hope for the best. i'll be super glad if he does what his supporters say and becomes invested in team ball and is a big part of winning games. or even if he just doesn't cause any problems! my plan isn't to just neg wood for the entirety because that was my initial position.
Not even anywhere close to comparable. This is offseason nonsense. Glad to have signed Wood though, he looks actually really happy in that video for fans. I'm rooting for him. And I think he could be a good fit here especially as AD insurance. Anything more than that is gravy.
I've not blocked anyone yet. As a mod I think I feel the need to see all the posts possible. Generally I'm a big fan of debate - I do think it fosters free thinking. I guess I'm down with the Hegelian logic - thesis/antithesis/synthesis.
We both would have at some point soon past when he was banned. Dude flat out to this day hates Pelinka and finds “better” moves that “should have” been done. Even after the roster we have to enter this season compared to where we were prior to the deadline with the 3,000lb anchor that was Westbrick and his salary that every single potential trade partner wanted to royally screw us to take him off our hands. Because we didn’t get that great option out there who can slow down Jokic and Embiid and the other few bruisers to take AD off that duty. (yet) anyway. Most of LG calls him on it too. Unbelievable!!
I just don’t understand the vitriol for this player. He’s an asset not a liability. Thanks for the video
yeah, those videos sure make you wonder where all the negativity is coming from. He may not be a perfect player but he sure seems to have some skills on both sides of the court that Ham should be able to zero in on and get him to commit. Think about Wood and AD holding a block party!!
The team had a big problem with rim protection once AD sat down. They have addressed that deficiency with Hayes and C Wood.As an added bonus Wood is actually a scorer who can spread the floor. He makes them so much more flexible in what they can do. Every player has their deficiencies but I always look at a player to see what he can do to be productive. For example look at wenyen Gabriel. The guy is border line NBA talent but he does something that’s valuable to winning he hustle’s his a** off.
There was a really weird vibe with Dallas off the get go. It was obvious Kidd didn't like the trade and I have no idea whether it was more Kidd or Wood but they never seemed to be on the same page. Once Wood did start get it going ( he was good against the Lakers as an example) he got hurt right when he seemed to be getting out of Kidd's doghouse. A bit of cursed year for him.
not to keep after it, but the problem is that footage like that exists in the face of every team he plays for being ok moving on from him at minimal-to-zero return. theoretically, he's great. practically, he hasn't been. hassan whiteside.
Kidd has a history of doing things differently all the way back to Cal where he was accused of leading a mutiny against the coach.whatever problem he had with Jim Jackson that made him want to get traded.feuding with B Scott in NJ.Reportedly faking a migraine in 07 missing a game then asking to be traded.Telling one of his players to run into him so he could spill his drink to subvert the rules.
fair enough.I would also take into account what the surrounding circumstances of the teams he played for were at that time. Some guys need to be in the right system/organization to fulfill their potential.
Jason Kidd initially didn't want Christian Wood in Dallas. The trade was not discussed with him,but I don't know how is that even possible. Dallas head coach Jason Kidd did not want forward Christian Wood on the team, ESPN insider Tim McMahon said. As the journalist notes, Wood’s trade was not initially agreed upon with the specialist. Last summer, the Mavs traded Wood to the Rockets for five players: Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, Marquese Chriss, Boban Marjanovic and Wendell Moore.
