in fairness, he wasn't a great fit with luka. his best offensive year was with a bad detroit team, where he could operate some with the ball. on a team with luka, you don't want him making plays for himself, as it's a lower expected value. he also played a lot of pf then, and we need a center. he sucked as a center here when he was available last year, and i'm not sure he's not really a sf, tbh. anyway, he's not the answer to any of our questions, other than "who's this year's lakers dead guy"?
Man you have this weird Christian Wood hate for some reason. Wood avg 21 and 10, and then 18 and 10 in Houston. He avg 17 and 7 coming off the bench in Dallas. There was a bit of a controversy in Dallas with the fans, that thought Wood should have played more. Yet for some reason, you continue to disparage this dude, who is on a vet minimum contract here. That s*** is rather odd.
He sucked balls here, as I predicted, then died. What’s weird is your torch for him. you just like the box scores.
More BS..I thought the coach sucked? Dude is on a vet minimum contract, FOH with that nonsense. Hater.
To be fair to Slick, the other two dead guys on our team have resurrected themselves and are playing exceptionally well now in Gabe and Vando. Who knows? But if Wood can come back I like his fit with Luka and he might just give us another decent Center position guy.
what if our training staff is suddenly over the hump and instead of being known as the "2 week gang" they are now resurrecting careers? It could happen....
more seriously, my real contention is that even if wood regains form, he's still really a pf/sf not a pf/c. and we have plenty of the former who are better right now.
well if we suddenly play killer defense and play small out of necessity, he may fit just fine on what we want to do. It's not my first option, but at least you know the man can score and rebound when given minutes. But can he D anyone up? I think that has always been the bigger issue.
I don't think any of them, are making the vet minimum either. That's still straight hating. He will probably end up playing more than Hayes though!
To be fair to all these guys that come back from extended injuries it takes a long time to get your NBA game rolling, at least for most. Sometimes that is almost an entire season, even if stretched over two. Look at what Gabe is now doing for us, healthy and having had time to find his game again. We, as a fan base, seem to expect players to come off injuries at 110%. We label them as trash, a bust, or rag on Rob for making a bad signing; it isn't like putting high performance heads and a Holley double pumper on an old 383, slapping it in Charger and off you go. Athletes are more like home brew, they take time and patience.
Nice!!! Put in an 8-track, a cassette, a cb and cruise the country. Playing basketball everywhere you go. I had to look real quick to see what thread we were in. Get well Christian!
