Will Melo be back on Friday v the tenants? I sure hope so. Missing his positive vibe and leadership a lot.

We've really missed that consistent 3 to the dome.

    Hopefully all the rest helped.

broken record at this point and ialmost mention in every Melo post at this point... please Vogel, be more delicate with him. Minutes need to max out in the low 20s

Nice to see him out there tonight. The last shot wasn’t a good one but I don’t blame him because of the position he was put in with the clock running down.

I can’t give him a pass for that lost shot. Just a boneheaded decision. And as pointed out already, I’m also getting annoyed with his habit of not knowing when to back off the refs. Way too many technical this season in untimely situations, often when he really didn’t even have a solid argument.

Totally agree about the technical. ESPN said last night that he leads the league in techs this year. That’s unacceptable. He also gets too many frustrations type fouls in past games that can compound the problem. I love the Melo signing and he brings a lot more positives than negatives but he’s a vet now, he needs to control his emotions better.

I'm fine with the shot and with the Ts. When you're at that level on your resumé and career accolades, you think you know better than the ref and often times your right. Only 12 players in NBA history have more Ts than Kobe. Melo won't let the ref off the hook if he thinks the ref is wrong. Honestly I much prefer Carsheed Anthony's approach than Bron's. I'd rather give up the 1 point than the player refuse to get back and will stand under his own basket for an entire play in protest. That usually costs us 3 points.

Regarding the shot, I wish he would've stepped in but I will take that shot every day before the one Bron was getting ready to take... the one he always takes and misses when trying to win us a game. Bron could've read the floor and clock better and if he was going to get it to only Melo, he could've put him in a little better position.

It was great to have Melo back out there. We desperately needed those 18 points. He started off really cold but once he shook off the rust, he was big in us staying in it. Really appreciate his activity and engagement defensively too. He's trying as hard as anyone out there. Only credited with 2 steals, but he had at least 5 knock aways/strips.

Big time nail in the coffin

Solid night with 14 & 8. Most impressive to me was his defense in the first half. He had 4-5 really good defensive plays. Not Melo good, like first team all defense good.

He was superb on both ends tonight. Great dagger with the assist from Lebron!

Year and a half younger, motivated to play occasionally good D Melo instead of whiplash-payback’s-a-b***h Morris.

If Melo was on that bubble team, Lakers may have swept 3 of the 4 series. And no series longer than 5 through the Finals.

If he was on that team, we’d be unstoppable. That team’s one flaw was not having that third scorer. If that was Melo instead of the committee of whoever had the hot hand… damn

I can't recall seeing this level of sharing before of "we're targeting x player." First the Clippers stating they targeted AR. Now Houston with Melo.

it's punk-a** move, both from lue (who REALLY should know better) and from houston's disappointing rookie. or as i'll always refer to him "not evan mobley".

Both can be true. You can be honest and be a punk a** in your response. There's just an understood level of respect in this game, that you don't say that s*** even if that's the exact thing your coach drew up on the white board. I personally think it's a bigger deal with Melo than AR because of Melo's resumé and he's not a rookie.

It's fine if you're a commentator. If Shaq yells out "BBQ chicken!" I don't really care. He's paid to have entertaining thoughts on the games. He's not a player/ coach on the other team. If they're going to share this, why not open up the rest of their playbook to the fans and media?

The respectful response is, we found a matchup or switch we liked and went to it because they had no real counter to it. If you're watching the game, you know who they're talking about, but don't put a player on blast for no reason.

exactly. it's disrespectful, and my guess is green will get his here and there because of it.
