Melo looks like a man expecting to win a championship. He is a vital cog in the Laker machine. It is so nice to watch that smooth shot. I am just expecting it to go in every time...lol I do not think he will be knocking anyone out with elbows but Melo is going to add his own chapter to Laker Lore.
The rebounding phrase is hilarious. I don't think that'll get old at any point this season. He's not good defensively, but he's better than I expected or recall in Portland. He's a step slow on every reaction, but you can see effort in pre-season. He's getting a swipe here or a block there each game. If he keeps up that effort, that and the rebounding will be enough contributions defensively as long as he's with Dwight and some combo of Baze, 'Do, THT. I don't think he can be on the floor with multiples from this list: Nunn, Monk, Ellington, DJ.
Sorry, Cookie that struck me the same way. Had to share it. That’s what Melo gets for being a potty mouth within earshot of the network mics.
He was being targeted by GS 2nd unit in the preseason game. He's bad defensively. There's no way around that. When he isn't hitting shots, he's useless.
all those who (falsely) complained about marc gasol's defense last year need to get a load of this. this is what "one guy being so bad defensively that it takes down the entire unit" looks like.
He is a volume shooter who can't defend. Let's see if those corner 3s will help him stay on the court
He's just so bad on defense: almost every offensive play is designed to get a shooter into a 1v1 situation on him and you can see the instructions are to take your time and let if fly when you got Melo on you. I lost count of how many guys this preseason have a hit 3 right in his face: they know he can't contest in time even when he makes the effort
His role should be as bench scorer. No way he should ever start. Unless of course we are down 4 guards like we have been. I have to say it again because I can’t even believe it’s real: we are missing 4 of our guards. And Ariza too.
I'm not sure what this was Also, am I the only one who expects him to hit every J he shoots? They look so smooth and flawless in the release, motion, and rotation that I unrealistically don't expect him miss any of his attempts.
