I’d say he isn’t far off the athleticism that Lavine showcased - Lavine was 6’5 with a 46” vertical and 6’8 wingspan. Carr is 6’5 with a 42” vertical but with a 7’1 wingspan. So he actually gets up an inch higher due to his wingspan. Zach obviously had better handles and could create on ball more. Carr won’t do that, he’ll be used as an off ball finisher whether it’s shooting or cuts. The thing where I see a difference is Lavine never wanted to play defense and was quite low IQ on that end. Carr played passing lanes great in college, was ok as a man defender, but it was his rim protection that was really surprising. He’ll give you legit shot blocking and rim protection with surprising instincts on that end. Carr shouldn’t be toted as a star. But he could develop into a very nice 3&D player with high athleticism. I want to play him 15-20 mins a night to do that.
