Wish we had kept Kobe healthy and prolonged his career in some ways. I was never going to be ready for him to walk away though, but he did it his way, and had the most amazing ending in the history of the league. These kids got to watch him growing up. Hopefully that's enough.
Max will get his shot..it's a long season. Technically he and Austin are the only 2 guards on the roster. Prince and Reddish are 3's that can play some 2. It will work itself out over the season. It's hard to gauge based off of SL and the preseason, when it comes to Max. The coaching staff sees what they see, in regards to these players. We work off of the little bit that we see,and whatever gets leaked. For all I know, Reddish might just be more impressive in practice and we currently have him ahead of Max. Personally..I think it's a bit unrealistic to start slotting Max, as some kind of defensive stopper already. He hasn't really played much at all, so he's not going to just walk into the rotation, with that reputation. We'll see how it goes..if Booker and Beal are playing tonight, he might get a look....IDK.
Popped in GameDay and saw he was getting some abuse, but... I agree with Legacy here. It's against Kevin freaking Durant. The list of SFs who can prevent him from getting the shot he wants when he's the entire offense consists of what?...5 players, tops and that feels generous, it's probably fewer than that. Cam stuck to him and contested well. At a certain point, you just have to tip your cap and acknowledge the greatness of the guy opposite you.
i said it in the game thread, too--reddish did everything right except he was 4 inches too short. vando might have done a slightly better job, but it's still kevin durant. i think using the bigs on him worked in part just because he got worn out from carrying them all game and having to work for his shots. he made it look easy, but it wasn't. cam was in his shirt all over the place.
I thought he did good as well - he contested everything and was in good position. He's got the same issue as Vando: can't nail that corner 3 at a high enough clip to keep the defense honest. He does seem better at finishing near the rim compared to Vando Team has to try out Max man, he may not be as good of an invidicual defender as Reddish and Vando but I trust him to bury open 3's
we told cam he'd get minutes if he took our vet min, so here we are. same with wood. both are doing ok, so i'll hold my whining.
this was his scouting report at draft time: i looked it up because i could have sworn his whole upside was projected as a shooter. wtf happened? run him off the line?! why?
The assumption was probably he'd work through the kinks on the J. Cause he can look like a Splash Brother to Soumaila Samake in the span of two shots. It's rarely the same form and same motion. I don't know whether a shooting coach hasn't been able to get through to him, whether he's got it down in practice and then reverts under the bright lights as the game speeds up, or what it is. Here's NBA Draft.net's https://www.nbadraft.net/players/cameron-reddish/ And highlighting my point (from the above) ...
Well Reddish has had some nice moments...but we keep playing Vincent at the backup 2 instead of Reddish. Give Reddish a few more mins and maybe he'll play better? Idk...just way too much Vincent
