Wish Bronny was good at one thing on offense. Just doesn't do anything notable on offense
    .

    He's good on defense though

I predict lots of box scores like this one. Lots of nothing.

Exactly. Don’t expect too much too soon from an inexperienced 6’2” nepotistic draft pick.

    His defensive potential is intriguing.
His lack of any offensive skills is worrying.

Regardless, he's a project and like JHS, we won't know what we have for another year.

Soooo based on your post , you would actually draft him if his dad wasn’t LeBron ? Because you see potential? Why did we release Scottie pippen son then ? You didn’t see potential?

No, I wouldn't have drafted him. IMO he's not good enough as of yet and should have stayed in school another 2 years. Regardless he's a Laker now and I try to see the positive and see a path forward towards him being an NBA player and I'm rooting for him. But his dad did him no favors by pushing for this.

The arguments for this are that second round picks are basically a gamble anyway and you keep your superstar happy, and the Lakers have always been in the business of placating their stars. So from that prospective I understand why they did it.

So even though I don't think he's NBA ready, the Lakers didn't really lose anything by doing this.

He performed well for a second round pick in the summer league.
The guaranteed contract was a gift from dad though.
So drafting him actually pretty reasonable but not the money

i agree. the guaranteed money is sorta nuts and wouldn't have been done for anyone not named lebron james junior. but i think he was draftable in the 50s. apparently, gs did, too.

You can wait until sod grows out of everyone a**, Junior has no business being in the NBA, had no business being drafted and no business getting a 3 year guarantee deal. It is an embarrassment and the most privileged thing I have ever seen in sports. And comparing Junior to Scottie Pippen's kid is not only an insult to Scottie Jr but an insult to anyone who knows basketball. Scottie Pippen Jr has a little bit of talent, he isn't pathetic. Bronny didn't even belong playing in a D-1 college program let alone anything in the NBA. And having this "we will wait another year" horse**** mentality is dead. Lakers don't have a year to wait for anyone, they need to win now.

I’m not THAT down on the kid, but I do expect a lot of empty box scores from him.

limited minutes plus limited offense, and the fact that a lot of what happens defensively doesn’t show up in a box score. He won’t have impressive stats for sure.

He might be good after a couple years of development.
Our FO being really dumb with their lower level talent contracts is a separate issue. We couldn’t upgrade our roster this summer because of it.
I really don’t understand all the frustration directed towards Bronny. We knew this was going to be a thing for years. This is the kind of nonsense we will continue to have to just deal with while LeBron is here.
I hope the kid proves us all wrong.

    So true haha.

By the way, I am sure Bronny totally cares what some dude, who probably never played one minute of professional basketball, has to say about his game on the internet. Some people should really get a life.

Bronnie may never be a good NBA player, but the hate is totally over the top. I see some potential there and am willing to give him at least this season to show whether / how much he can improve. He has some tools on the defensive end and seems to be a bright, hard working young man. Something tells me he'll turn out better than at least some of the guys drafted before him and even if not, I am not going to loose sleep over it.

No matter how bad he ever ends up sucking, he’s set for life and didn’t have to get Diddied to do it. Winner.

but he has a lot to learn to be useful to us it appears.
