can you blame him for not seeming upbeat about this season?

bass is one of those guys that goes 110% percent every time he's out there. i hope we can keep him

What, maybe he's thrilled to be a 6'6" PF playing out of position at center?

Interesting , Lou and Bass are the 3rd "best" PNR tandem in the league so far according to this "analysis"

Definition at the 2 min mark , and segment about Lou and Bass at the 4.55 mark

I'd take a second rounder for Bass in order to liberate the big guy and send him somewhere he can make a difference. Or, I wouldn't mind trying to package him for a big time player. It's financially possible...

How about packaging him, Young and Kelly for Al Horford? Not sure if the money equals out exactly but they would get a hard working Big who can knock down the mid-range shot, a sixth man and some young talent.

I'm sure they could get a better package. I've heard they've been talking to the C Bags about both Horford and Teague.

I'd welcome either of those players, but I would expect we'd have to part with one of our young core to get to them.

At the very least it'd cost us something like Williams/Young/Nance Jr. but probably more like Clarkson/Young/Hibbert or something like that.

I would expect that, too. I'd rather stand pat and go after him in free agency then. The fact that we are even hearing about Atlanta thinking of trading him is a great sign. Maybe we have a real shot at him then this summer.

Agreed but at the same time I'm a little worried that whoever trades for him will do a good enough job of keeping him there that we'll be out of the running... It's a tough call. I'm really hopeful we get what we want this summer. I hope we get ANYONE this summer at this rate...

How about a round of applause for Brandon Bass? Ever since the All-Star break he's been working his freaking tail off as an undersized Center.

    His averages post All-Star break:
    23.4 minutes
    9.9 points
    4.3 rebounds
    0.64 assists
    0.55 steals
    59.3% FG
    79.5% FT

    He's been rock solid.

Yup he has been balling. Tarik gets random chances but hasn't been able to outplay him. I really hope he stays around next year but as a forward there's no time in the rotation for him with Nance and Randle. Even then Randle and Nance play some center and PF together in Boron's lineups.

We're finally seeing what he was advertised as, a professional vet that just gets the job done. He just needed time to adjust to playing as an undersized center.

I wouldn't mind if he came back as our undersized Center off the bench honestly. I don't know if he'd want to or how much that'd cost us, but I like Brandon a lot. Even when he was struggling, I wanted to trade him for HIS sake not because he stunk or anything. Not like Ryan Kelly who I'd be fine leaving in an airport somewhere.

Brandon is such an underrated athlete that alongside Nance Jr., he can really be disruptive as a defensive presence. There's not a ton of post players left so these small guys can make it work. He's mobile, works hard, and makes good decisions. Gotta love a teammate like that.

Yeah, the defensive side is what has really surprised me about Bass and the fact he's doing it as an undersized center speaks that much more about him, his work, and willingness to do what the team needs.

I always knew he was the ultimate professional and had great up and down jumping ability to go along with the mid-range game, but the post and help defense...... impressive.

Would love to have him back if he accepts his player option. And I still think there is a chance that he does accept it.

He's been rock solid for years now with multiple teams, we just used him wrong, and then not at all for a while. B0ron is a horrible coach, what else can be said. I hope he opts in for next season, but I honestly don't think with how B0ron has jerked him around this season that Bass does that unless he's fired pretty quick after the season ends.

Well the other thing too: Bass is proving a lot of value/worth right now. The cap blows up this season so he might have a shot legitimately at a 4/20 million dollar deal somewhere if he has a good agent. At least a deal worth 10 million or so should be in the cards for him. I'd find it strange if he opted into his deal now.

Probably working his a** off that hard not only for the new contract but a contract... as far away from us now .....as he can get if he thinks there's even a chance Scott's coming back.

Kobe Bryant (sore shoulder) and Brandon Bass (eye) will miss tonight's game against Sacramento, the Lakers say.

Anyone know what's wrong with Bass's eye?

Bigger question, does this mean more Kelly, more Sacre, or does Black actually get to play tonight?
