I rewatched it, and it was a pretty darn good fight. What has upset everyone is the 118-110 score for Canelo was so out of line.

I thought Canelo looked like the more skilled fighter, but moving up in weight, he started to feel the pressure from GGG, and couldn't keep up the pace the whole fight.

    Both fighters have great chins.

I think if they fight again, this starts to lean more toward Canelo. The age difference will only become more noticeable.

I thought GGG won the fight for sure, but it was a very good fight. Canelo started out well, but GGG controlled the fight for the most part. I don't have a huge problem with a "draw" call, it just feels like a cop out and in my opinion Canelo didn't do enough to win the fight.

The scorecard with 118-110 was flat out insulting. Canelo didn't dominate that fight any more than I went to bed with Alyssa Milano last night. There's just no way you could watch that fight and see a Canelo domination unless you were one of Canelo's family members. I was shocked at how adamant Canelo was that he'd won the fight handily as well. Just crazy.

    She's been suspended.

Chris Mannix called it before the fight though.

Yeah, they suspended her "for the rest of the year." Which means 3 months. Was she scheduled to score any big fights? Doubt it. So it means nothing. She'll be back to fix... I mean score, more fights.

Her reputation is pretty shot. I'd be surprised if they put her on a big card any time soon.

Well I have been gone for a minute but here goes some boxing recap:

The superfly card was unreal: Inoue looks like a monster, Estrada vs Cuardras was a great fight and Rungvisai's brutal KO emphatically ended Chocolatito's long reign. Apparently they might be looking to do another one which would be amazing!

    GGG vs Canelo:

In the build up a lot of people were saying GGG would have to KO him because he was never going to get a fair decision, which turned out to be the case.

Byrds card is unbelievable and they should publish her inquiry answers so we know why she scored the fight so wide. Canelo at best got a draw and that's being generous. Not only that but 115-113 judge somehow managed to score round 7 to Alvarez which even Byrd gave to GGG!

I think a UD of 115-113 would have been a fair result, Canelo did some great counter punching, but was ultimately only boxing 1 out of 3 minutes whether due to gassing or not wanting to exchange with GGG who for some reason looked quite tentative through the first 3 rounds, either way money won and we will probably get a rematch on May 4th when Alvarez is pressured back into it by the fans as they have no interest in an immediate rematch.

GGG should see if he can unify before the rematch if BJS isn't still ducking.

    Other Stuff:

Wilder/Stiverne 2 (yay! Smh), Wilder may have the worst resume of a HW for a 3 year champion

Campbell/Linares: Thought Campbell was unlucky not to come away with a win, ultimately the knockdown swung it for Linares.

Ward retirement: Great talent, dirty tactics, spoiler, wouldn't pay to watch him anyway and he will probably return for some big money fight I imagine.

WBSS: Nice tournament at SMW, Eubank Jr vs Groves (if he gets through Cox) will be a great fight.

CW Series: Expect Usyk to win that.

    Coming up:

    AJ vs Pulev
    Haye vs Bellew 2
Lomachenko vs Rigo!!!! (Ultimately I think jumping up two weight classes will be rigos undoing especially against the monster that is Lomachenko)

I'm sure I've missed some things out but there's a mini boxing update.

Always hate the old great vs, the young great that’s in his prime. Just makes me think “What if...”.

This Lo/Rigo fight is no different. Size was a factor too. Lo is going to have to move up or else his fights will be a bore from domination.

NoMaschenko is probably going to move to 135 and fight Mikey Garcia, probably the one guy who has a great chance at beating him. Personally think Loma crushes everyone else at 135.

Noma just took him apart. Rigo was just confused as all hell. After all those big looping punches, Rigo had nothing. All that holding and complaining? Not a good showing for Rigo at all.

Yea, once he started with the awkward holding I felt he was in danger. I think that started in the 1st round. Ha

When none of his punches were landing, and I mean body punches too, it was a bad sign. Then he started holding to try to frustrate Loma and it didn't work. He was able to fire himself up and get a couple flurries together, but nothing landed and Loma answered right back.

The female match on the GGG undercard was pretty good. I was rooting for the underdog, but she couldn’t pull it out. I must say the champ has a perfect set of teeth.
