He seems like a really good dude, but we need to be looking elsewhere, it’s time for both sides to move on.
(This one still slaps...) At least he won't the safety blanket for the next coach. Still think we can do better even with a 14th roster spot.
As I mentioned in another thread I wouldn’t mind AB back for the minimum. As long as he’s coming off the bench I’m cool with it. But I like him more than pretty much anybody on LB.
If we keep him, I don't want to see him playing more than 10mpg, let alone starting. He's a deep bench veteran player who won't do anything stupid in limited minutes. That's it. If it was up to me... I'd let him walk.
said it in the other thread, but i like melo/dwight/avery as the end-of-bench veterans who have experience with our stars. as long as they all understand the circumstance. this has been an issue with our current regime, imo (schroder, drummond, etc.). role clarity is key. and coaches and gms need to be on the same page there.
I’m cool with keeping both for the end of bench guys. Different players. DJ is a PG who can shoot and AB a SG who D’s up. For third string they’d be just fine.
my hope is that we make enough other impactful signings and moves that i'm not too invested in whomever occupies the 12-15 slots on the roster. just pick our favorite friends or whatever.
The problem with AB was not just that Frank played him too much, but also that he was put in a lot of unwinnable defensive mismatches I thought. It’s like there was a leap from “Bradley is one of the only guys who puts in effort defensively” to “Therefore let’s have him guard the opposing team’s best player, even if it’s a much bigger wing”. He’s fine as a third stringer that you only use in certain defensive matchups (smaller guards).
I wrote the same reply but I did not send it because I don’t want to hurt my friend’s feelings:THT Heart HandsLTLakerFan
