years matter, too, though. i imagine we don't go past using his FA rights for a raise over 2-3 years. will someone else beat that? possibly.
Austin Rivers brings some baggage but with the right guidance he can replace 80% of what Bradley brought us for $5.7 mil Something surprising but Rivers in 2020 was in the 83% percentile in iso scoring.
Bradley was instrumental in our regular season attack. He was the first line of defense. Debatable if we missed him in the playoffs but at least we get a clear picture on what we need to do now. I wouldn't mind him back if he'll play but right now we NEED to keep KCP.
I won't judge him on his personal decisions, but the bottom line is that he can't be counted on to play next season. Pass.
As much as I liked how Bradley played this past season, I’m ready to move on. If you don’t wanna be in LA, don’t.
Yes, I agree. Since we won without him in the bubble, it doesn't hurt as much. He wanted more money when he wasn't with the Lakers when we needed his production the most. He's entitled to making his money but why should he get a ring, then?
He was part of the team that got us there and played a role in the championship. If you were going to give players like Dion waiters and JR Smith a ring, you most certainly have to give Avery Bradley a ring.
I’m a big AB fan, but if we keep KCP, that puts us at 2 guards at $10M+ and Caruso will be due a fair extension next year. So assuming we’ll have 3 guards taking up $40M in cap space, it just might not make sense to reinvest in Bradley. Probably better served getting a couple vets at the min and continuing to develop THT and hope he can earn his way into the rotation.
was wondering if noel might be a guy we target, but didn't he break with klutch? guessing that's a no-go. and again--golden state has the cash to sign bradley--but we don't? do the lux tax/hard cap rules only apply to the lakers?
He's still part of Klutch. He was with them when the Klutch group showed up to Anthony Edwards draft workout or whatever that was. Noel and Schroder have some pretty good chemistry but obviously, you want to try and get Ibaka first.
just never thought of ibaka or gallo as possible unless we were S&Ting, and we already used our primary chip for that. i'm focused on straight up FA possibilities at this point.
oh, it's not impossible--and weirder things have happened--i just think it's best to be prepared for more likely possibilities. there's still a bunch of interesting guys that will sign for the minimum, imo. nothing that will bowl you over, but guys as good as the ones that we won a title with already.
Has anyone seen a comment from Bradley if he is planning on playing next year? If he plans on sitting out till his family can get a vaccine, that’s no dice for me. Especially this year where we have a condensed schedule and Bron minutes need to be managed.
