Well sounds like he’s still a payer if that’s the case? I definitely want him back but just don’t see how he now would rationalize playing in a far less safe environment going forward than what the Bubble provided. With his immune compromised son at home.
I doubt he comes back this year with an open schedule. It doesn't make sense. People will test positive eventually.
Here's a paste from one of the articles that detailed him opting out. I guess there is a chance my choice of bolded words was more the problem? But would that many people have been allowed anyway from one family? I don't recall if there was a limit per player. Seem to recall there was? Liam Bradley has a history of struggling to recover from respiratory illnesses, and it is unlikely that he would have been medically cleared to enter the Orlando bubble with his family. "As committed to my Lakers teammates and the organization as I am, I ultimately play basketball for my family," Avery Bradley said. "And so, at a time like this, I can't imagine making any decision that might put my family's health and well-being at even the slightest risk.
So what's the bradley situation? He's going to have to play or we're going to have to make some tough decisions.
Avery Bradley didn't do himself any favors in the free agency market by refusing to play in the playoffs. All it proved is that the Lakers didn't really 'need' him out there. With that being said, I'm a huge fan of Bradley. He's still in his prime at age 29 and is rather undervalued. I feel like the Lakers didn't really use Bradley+Caruso enough when those two would be a nightmare defensively for the other team. LeBron AD KCP Bradley Caruso I think that lineup would be an absolute killer come playoffs times. I hope he opts in. Lakers were professional and gave him a ring so it's time for Bradley to repay us.
I just don't see why he would opt out...nobody is going to wanna get him if he's not willing to play? I think for us it's better if he opts in so we can use him in a trade if need be...
Going to be interesting to see what he does now. Current season will definitely be tougher in respect to possibly catching Covid than the bubble was where there were zero instances. But what does he do in this case? Retire before he's 30? It's a conundrum. I'd love to see him return especially if KCP prices himself out of coming back.
I think Silver made it clear that players would not be required to play this year in the bubble. Be curious what the approach is for this next year. Sit out, miss checks?
I assumed he’d opt in, but will he play? If he refuses to play, which I will not fault him for, then we have to look for a replacement regardless.
If he opts in common sense says he should be required to play or he doesn't get paid? And we have to cut him. So don't opt in? Then again ..... this IS California. udleyshrug:
Yeah he's going to have to PLAY if he opts IN. At this point with KCP/Rondo both looking for serious money, Bradley opting in is becoming more and more necessary for us in case we lose one or both of those guys.
Decline, meaning test free agency? After not playing in the bubble for personal reasons? Or decline meaning retire, and needs new agent for that decision? This whole thing with him is getting weird. If he declines the option looking for more money elsewhere after not contributing to our playoff run .... don't know about anyone else but will leave me pretty salty about that.
Thought we were going to have a no stress off season. Just move Cook on and Dudz on and pick up 2 guys to help us more for same cash. But NOOOOO!!!
Makes a little sense. But man, all these guys opting out looking for pay days. I just don’t see it with Bradley, KCP or Rondo though. Good players but not great. Don’t see that kind of market for them.
it's okay to opt-out, what's not okay is to opt-out and sign with the Clippers out of spite for the minimum
