This game might have solidified that Reaves is the Lakers 2nd best player behind Luka.

 

That was really just.. great. Big scoring games only impress me when the difficulty of the shots is through the roof (ie: kobe type performances) or very efficient, and was he ever. What a tremendous player we lucked out on..

 

Trade him for I don't know Kessler and Juzang

 

Absolutely unreal performance from Austin.

Can't say i ever expected a 50 piece out of him. AND If you told me he got one this season before Luka I'd have them put you in a padded room.

Couldn't be happier for him. Seeing the team celebrate him as the buzzer sounded. Incredible moment for him that he busted his a** for tonight.

Not only did he get a 50 piece, he should've had a triple double in the process.

Austin continues to show how much personal recognition he gives up for the team. Has been for a while but clearly in our top two players now. Austin /Luka are some some tough mofos.

 

Yeah.... don't understand the "trade" crowd. You get 1.75 Lukas on your team, you work to add around them, not dismantle them for some mythical Luka + someone better combo.

 

Austin saw my post and said 45, 7 & 7? F that, let's do 51, 11 & 9, w/ 6 3's and 2 stls. On 55%/60%/95% shooting. With +22 for the game. While the team fell apart -15 in the 9 minutes without him. He takes a short break at the end of the 3rd with the team up 3, then in the 4th the team quickly goes -7 to be down by 4. Austin comes back in, says no problem, get on my back. Scores 15 pts, including 3 3's in a row, 4/5 shooting, 4/4 FT's, 4 rebs, and an ast, all in 9 minutes in the 4th quarter. Team goes +11 and wins by 7. Just a day in the life of Austin Motherf'in Reaves.

This. He could have done this last season (and did in the few games he got the chance). But he is a team player, has no problem being a 3rd option, sacrifices for the team, and just tries to help get the team W's. We are lucky to have him.

 

He was old so his ceiling is low, just a dynamic 50 pt scorer and you can get those for a dime a dozen
