it's lateral quickness. he just doesn't have it. he has almost everything else, though, which is great. again, i like him, but in situations like that, he can get exposed. it's what the clips did to get a game off us last year, too (albeit luckily, as reggie jackson won't hit that shot again in that situation). anyway, if he's your weakest defensive link you're ok. the problem is he's one of our strongest.
16 total for the night. Really like the body control he has after his off-season weight training. He's gotten good at absorbing contact and finishing in a short amount of time.
Uh, I strongly dislike Mark Jackson too… but what was the purpose of that MVP chant? Like to me it seemed the crowd was just trolling. Nothing wrong with that, but I can see why a commentator would find it absurd.
Awesome …. the kid earning Eagle like love from the fans. Gotta keep Austin, Lonnie and Max as bona fide young talent to build around with AD going forward. Brown is nice too but would understand if not possible.
I always thought that when it's the home crowd at Staples (I am not calling it after that pyramid scheme BS) and it's for a fan favorite, it's the way to show appreciation. Caruse used to get these.
This was a fun one Solid 33 minutes tonight. Hopefully the ankle is good. Can't afford him to miss time.
Boy, he was not gonna let us lose. Went in several times to stem the tide. Those two floaters were HUGE
He has the "IT" factor. I wonder if he'll be able to go tomorrow. I can see him and Lebron sitting out against the Suns.
I don’t know, I think that’s a bit of a bastardization of what the MVP chant is supposed to be. I think originally it was used to literally chant for the MVP, or someone who the crowd thinks deserves a shot at being the MVP. My first recollections of hearing the MVP chant would be when Kobe got them. And even then, I feel like the chants were used sparingly. Like it wasn’t just whenever Kobe had a good game or went to the free throw line during his prime. I felt the crowd would usually wait until later in the season to do it, and specifically wait until Kobe did something so epic that it actually pushed him up the MVP ladder. Like the chant wasn’t just “this is a player we like and want to show appreciation for” but rather “see, this is why he is THE Most Valuable Player and deserves the award!” Again, not a big deal to use it more casually for fan favorites, but I can understand why some might find it a bit blasphemous
Thought just hit me …. 2 mulligans the FO has pulled off with an A grade if we’re being honest. Finding such a similar impact glue player with even more upside on offense after botching having the Eagle still here. Yeah BUT we could have had and should have had both! Think of that duo on perimeter D and any damn D together. Well mulligan number 2! Also A grade. Yes to what that could have been but now if we keep them together … gawd love AC but Max Christie is now already at 7-8 years younger pairing instead out there with Reaves, and it’s clear to me Max also and even more so … will be a superior player with a much higher ceiling.
He also missed a clutch FT in that same game (AD did it twice, he missed against Philly) He's a great closer though. +15 yesterday. Hope his foot injury ain't serious
It is crazy how much different we play with Austin vs without even when he is hobbled. I would like him to get more shots but he is too smart to force them. There are many times the pass should go to him for a shot but a drive is forced or the pass just not made. Austin and Max are going to start making it hard on the opposition for the next ten years. Two smooth kids that do not get rattled.
