Austin is going to have to knock down those open looks this season. I'm sure that he's been putting in the work. I look forward to seeing his progression.
Hit one. Still has his nice looking stroke too. Possibly just the tired legs from hitting the rookie wall brought down his % later in the season after shooting pretty well earlier in the year.
early verdict is he's still not ready for backup pg minutes. this is ok, as we have schroder. but for now it means that reaves will have to be able to eat some minutes at backup sf if he's going to play much.
^ Precisely. I think some of us suggested minutes at the 3 before. That's the only way he's going to realistically get minutes because you have Russ/Dennis at the 1 and Nunn/PatBev at the 2. And those guys are going to play, no matter what... they were all super solid last night.
yeah, and the lakers hinted at reaves playing the 3 earlier in the summer, too, iirc. i don't like him there. he's a 2, imo, but it is what it is.
According to last night, I can see that if MIP stands for Most Incompetent Player. He looked like pure dog s*** just like the rest of the team. When I say team, I mean even those guys who had "good numbers". 6 point lead through the 1st half was only a lead because Sacramento was missing practically every shot.
He was one of our best players last season. I know last season sucked but I'm going to at least give him through pre-season.
The dynamics of the team has changed. He will have to compete more this season for his playing time. The PG spot is locked up IMO, we don't need him there. He might end up playing most of his time at SF or as a big SG. I give him the edge at SF over JTA, but I'd like to see what Brown looks like at that spot too. He's going to be going up against Walker, for time as a big SG. I haven't seen Lonnie yet either, but Austin is going to have to knock down some shots this season if he's going to stay on the court.
He didn’t play well yesterday but his bball instincts aren’t just going to disappear. It will be harder for him to get time on the floor this season though. He’ll have to outplay a lot of guys in the same spots.
Well lucky for him he leans more toward the "large wing" which we are lacking in (although I can't figure out if I am supposed to count Juan Toscano-Anderson as a wing, with him often listed as a 4.
We won the first half. In the 2nd LeBron/AD/Russ didn't play. I don't understand your comment and where's that dog poop. If Sac was missing, do you think it had anything to do with our team playing some D? I don't know, just a wild thought
i think sac's a bad shooting team in general, but i think we did a pretty good job on d. the bar is so low for me after last year. i do worry that a team that can both drive and shoot (sac has good penetrators) will score at will on us.
Yes, I'm expecting Austin to rise to the top again. The competition for everyone will be good but he is a more complete player than most. That will end up separating him. Being good on both ends of the court give Austin a big advantage.
He’s gonna be this year’s THT. His best position is SG but we have too many guards. He’ll have to play back up 3 but he’s a little undersized there (under strengthed?).
