AR's +28 was the 2nd highest on the team. In the first half, he shot a blistering 4/5 (3/3 from 2 and 1/2 from 3) for a team-leading 9 pts and was +5 out of the team's 7-pt lead. In the second half, he shot poorly (0/4 incl 0/2 from 2 and 0/2 from 3), but he contributed +23 as part of the best lineup +/-wise. The starters (Brunson/Edwards/Bridges/Ingram/Jackson Jr) were only +2 in 13:22. The best lineup was an almost all bench lineup of Haliburton/Reaves/Bridges/Johnson/Portis that went an incredible +18 in 6:40 and took the game from a 13 pt lead in the 3rd to an absolute blowout the rest of the way. AR was one of the first subs off the bench and played from the mid-late 1st/3rd through the middle of the 2nd/4th for about 8-9 minutes straight each time. When he's out there, good things happen, even when his shot is off. "The ball just goes to the right spot, the right cut is made. He’s a hell of a basketball player. Just so poised out there all the time. He’s a guy who enhances any lineup that he plays with."
Exactly why I want him running our offense. He is the best point guard we have, and it is not even close. When he is in the game you have a much better chance of winning than when he isn't.
Is MSN writer is drunk? The US has a reasonable 12 good man squad where Anthony Davis and Jalen Brunson are the face of the team. There will be no LeBron James, Steph Curry or Kevin Durant.
WUT?? …. with the AD talk? …. and Brunson in face of team conversation? I don’t think so. (NOT even thinking of Reaves in saying that) I do think Zen is way too under selling us though with this squad once they start to gel more.
It starts August, 25 Slovenia, Germany and Spain are friendly games. And Luka is actually was injured in another friendly game
Hope he doesn’t get resentment for it from teammates. His game IS more fun to watch than most of them though.
anthony edwards is pretty entertaining. anyway, laker effect. hopefully teammates (like edwards) are paying attention.
I think Ant is the best offensive player on the team. Put up 11 in the 3rd. He actually is out there playing some defense. I think he played more D in the first half of that game than he played in the first half of the season with the Wolves last year. AR seems to be buddy-buddy with Bridges, just going off info from practice. But on that squad, objective #1 needs to be Ant. Bridges is #2, a distant number two. Yeah, they'll be fine as chemistry develops. This is from two practices. Glue guys are going to pop the most because their role isn't changing. Stars have to find the balance in deferring and scoring with other stars. And they are, in real time. That's why they ripped off that 18(?)-0 run, cut off the water for them in the second half, and made it a blowout. The only concern they should have right now is JJJ keeping the fouls in check. He had to sit in this because just like in the NBA, he's foul prone. Banchero looked really good out there but on this team there's no replacing JJJ's defense. I like the perimeter defensive length with Bridges and BI, it's almost unfair. They might be able to hold hands in the paint and each be able to contest a corner 3 with their other hand.
