This kid is a baller. He is playing the game the way he has played the game. He doesn't force it and he takes the shots that are for him. He is going to miss, he is going to struggle especially against guys who are at the top of the game like Klay. He made some great plays today.
This series is good experience for him, playing against the best backcourt in the league, one of the very best of all time. Of course their problem is they don't have a stopper like Michael Cooper. If they had someone like that, who could score just a bit, their backcourt would be awesome. I don't really like Poole that much, he seems a bit one dimensional to me. They have 3 great scores but none of them are lock down defenders. Heck, I think Schroder is a better defender than any of the guys on the Warriors. Klay was better before his injury, but now it is what it is. But from AR's perspective, this is the toughest assignment he will have, ever. If he can learn and get better from this experience, he will be better off for it. Worst game yet and he still had double digits. Klay ONLY had 5 more points! I will take that every single time.
Better game for AR. He still looks a little wonky to me on offense though. Like his legs are bothering him. Not quite right. But he's battling through and not giving up. Love this kid.
Those that have hit the panic button on AR after game two hopefully can relax some. Austin is a baller, plays great defense and does all the non stat things we need to win. As great a defender as Michael Cooper was Bird still had big games. The all time great scorers have their moments regardless. After Lebron and AD he is as important to our success as anyone on the team. We beat Memphis and up 2-1 on the Warriors so I would say he is doing just fine. We likely wouldn't have even made the play in without him.
thought he did well there, too. i imagine kerr will watch some film and correct it, but it worked for a game.
He might not be as big an offensive weapon as he was earlier these playoffs but he's still producing out there. His defense is what we need right now, Bane in the first round now Curry/Klay/Poole this round. Playoff basketball is taking a tow on him but he'll make the right play more often than not.
Yes he ended up with an ok game. I know he got grief because he missed a couple free throws but shot 5-7 from the line, where Dennis who shoots a similar free throw percentage shoot 1-4. I really think something is wrong with his leg and he’s not saying. He’s not one to wear compression gear.
Austin has had that sleeve quite awhile now. Maybe it's the leg he had the hammy strain on which kept him out 3-4 weeks earlier in the season? I don't know just guessing. If it is maybe for keeping it tighter and warmer? He's also for the first time in his basketball life experiencing the like 50% rougher contact allowed from the best and toughest players in the world during these last 9 days of the playoffs so far.
I really don’t understand what the panic is all about. We are in the Second Round against the most dominant team over the past decade and Austin is guarding two of the best shooters of all time. Many are acting like we are down 0-3 instead of being up 2-1.
It's weird that GS doesn't have a backup PG? Livingston used to just kill teams during their first run and now it's Steph and Bubkas. It's like the Lakers having basically squat at backup C spot. Just odd roster construction from two otherwise ridiculously talented teams
Not by plan with what seemed like yet another Pelinka coup at the time with Bamba coming in for Beverley going out. S*** happens injury after like 1 or 2 games him starting to get minutes, protect the rim some and knock down a couple 3s.
Yeah missing a month killed Mo's shot at cracking the rotation. However..Bamba, Beasley and a FRP for Myles Turner? I ain't giving the Turner thing up just yet.
just don't see why indy does it. they've got turner under contract for two more years now at a reasonable number. why downgrade for a mid-first round pick? they're trying to win games. even when they negotiated with us last year, it really felt like them just trying to see how high they could jack the price rather than negotiating in good faith. now that he's extended, i think it's just a non-starter. they'd only move him in an upgrade, imo.
There the AR we know and love! Knocking in some big shots and getting stuff of the dribble. He's still not quite there: missed corner 3 hurt but very good sign
The do everything man with another good game. Going just as planned. Closing in on that championship.
