I saw this quote in the wee hours and had to come back to it. The highlighted part. What he made you think of. An undrafted rookie. And me .... our scouting staff .... AGAIN!
Teams will have tape to watch on him as the season goes on and he will have to adjust but the kid is smart and will figure it out. Me likey.
Yes. But not a whole lot to watch while he’s not handling the ball a lot and just being used in a 3 and D role. Good position to be in with him to be able to plug him into any lineup and so far get solid heads up play. Maybe he and THT make a great back court in the future.
There 3 and D and then there's 3 and D. If he can hit the 3 which Caruso struggled with in terms of consistency, he also moves well off the ball and gets to the right spots. And as mentioned his passing opens up another layer to the offense. A 3 and D who has gravity and can either shoot the open shot or create an open look with the pass is as good as someone who can shoot and finish at the rim with authority. It's that added wrinkle that make guys like Bridges on the Suns a hot commodity
Our new secret weapon?? Shhhhhhsshhhh!!! This guy sucks!!! Just another token white guy!! Yeah!!!! That's the ticket!!!
Well, I think with our depth, a lot of guys will have to get used to DNPs- mainly once THT and Nunn become available.
^ Yeah, you're absolutely right. I mean, THT and Nunn absolutely need minutes. And if we truly see that we have no minutes for some of the guys, we can try trading them, because we'd be doing them a favor. No one wants to rot on the bench and just be a cheerleader if they truly believe they can contribute.
Yeah, it sure is nice to have so much depth that this is an option. I think the only guard who will be okay with a lot of DNPs is Rondo. All I know is AR15 and THT aren’t going anywhere.
^ You know, I actually did have him and Haslem in mind , but those guys are an exception, right? They contribute in terms of leadership, not so much by playing. Those guys you don't trade.
On top of ALL the skills the kid is tough and competes like a mutha. As advertised from his OU coaches and observations of Rondo from practice.
Unreal this guy went undrafted. I get he it doesn't have any hops to speak of but he's got good size, got a great looking shot, has enough of a handle to get out of trouble, good court vision, and is super smart. He's also got the footspeed to be a pest on defense. The 4th quarter run was in large part to the lineup DH, AD, and Reaves just shutting everything down. With Lebron in there you can throw a Bazemore or THT type to create a totally switchable defense that could physically overwhelm a lot of teams.
He is still over helping a bit on defence. But you watch him realise it every time and shake his head at himself. He has a lot of pride on D and that’s going to be huge. Made me a fan in 3 games!
